There reaches a time when suffering from cumulative fatigue when it is impossible to stay awake....what is irresponsible is the rostering practices that get pilots crewed together into this condition.
Combined they both then cannot make the competent decisions you require.
If you know the answer of how to avoid this cumulative fatigue please let us know.

If you know the answer of how to avoid this cumulative fatigue please let us know.
It is usually called...using the rest periods scheduled at slip stations (in hotac) to the best advantage, instead of....having a crew party, where excess adult beverages are consumed.

Otherwise, complaining is cr*p, and not worthy of the position on the FD...period.

Next?

411A, as you have never worked for EK, I wish you'd stop making unsubstantiated comments regarding crew fatigue here. You have no idea what you are talking about. Most crews here seldom even go out for a meal together let alone have wild parties on layovers.
Any suggestions on how to block incoming messages from this baffoon?

Even if the story was untrue, I think it is not easy staying alert any more with those FTL that we have....
I put the alarm clock on iphone in my pocket to feel it and feel much better after having a nap of 15-20 min. I would never say not to check on us to the Purser though...
I know some guys who used to carry inflatable bed and managed to put it inside the cockpit...

Kiwi,
This message is hidden because 411A is on your ignore list.
Under User CP on the top left, then under buddy/ignore list bottom left ,the rest is self explanatory.
It works wonders

@kiwi- Sir, very bad. You want to ban 411A and prevent us all from enjoying his colourful posts. With 7000+ posts to his credit, no one can blame him for not being consistent.

Btw, just ask him about his views on CRM.

Sharpshooter,
We dont want to ban him, he's entitled to his opinion. We, however, are also entitled to not have to read his somewhat extremist drivel. Democracy at work.

Airbus seem to think that pilot comfort is of no concern. As long as you can move forwards and backwards to reach the pedals then that's ok.

25-11 COCKPIT SEATS

a) Horizontal Adjustment : fitted 2, required 2
b) Vertical Adjustment : fitted 2, required 0

affected crewmembers.

c) Other Adjustments C - 0
One or more may be inoperative provided the
seating position is acceptable to the affected
crewmembers.

Then it would be up to the affected crewmember to say that the position is not acceptable, if it isn't. Something you might put up with on a Muscat might not be okay on a European night flight.

"...The pursur was sacked because they are required to come into the cockpit and check on the pilots every 15 mins."
It's a journo wind up. Over-and-out.

BOLLOCKS!

If she was sacked, which I doubt, she would definately have a claim for wrongful dismissal. The CCEM now states that the flight crew should be checked 'periodically'. Nothing about 15 mins or even 30!

Based on the fact that my missus allows me to indulge in the art of copulation 'periodically', and that I surf pprune 'periodically', I can testify that there is a huge difference between the interpretation of the word by an individual.

The old adage of 12 condoms for the married man, one every month, holds true. In my case, I still have three left over from last year!
