Ek Leave - the family orientated company

I was given only 7 days leave for next year.
That was non-peak.

So we either have no holidays outside of Dubai or the kids will miss 42 days of school during the year.

They just keep giving it and we keep taking it.

Talking about leave, according to the final leave bidding FCI, we can bid up to 30 days leave next year, not the contracted 42!

Looks like the fxxkwits have enacted the policy mooted last year, when they slipped out the letter quoting that under UAE labour laws we are only quaranted 30 days and anything above that was at the company's discreton!

Wonder how I'll be taking leave next year? My middle finger extended then inverted to press 2!

I think you will find that the 30 days is a min and you must get/bid for that much or they will allocate leave at this early stage and not ait for the matrix in the manual to kick in.
I also think that the 30 days is our "official "leave and the other 12 are for the public hols.
I got 21 peak (second Choice) and 11 non-peak (first choice) and the system shows 10 still avail. Will be interesting to see what happens in Jan.

The rules are they attempt to give peak leave every 2nd year.

I got none last year, three weeks exactley when asked for this year, so by the book in my case.

How many who didn't get peak leave this year did last year?

Missed out on peak leave altogether last year,
Reserve last December (08),
Reserve next December (10).

So what did I get: -

SQUAT!!

And then they tell me, "choose or have em allocated!"
Contemplating all sorts of 'stress relieving remedies at the moment'

As Dr Smith once stated..."Oh the pain..."

I have a sneaky suspicion the same people complaining about leave will be the same as those complaining about rosters.
It comes down to how you bid.
The more specific you are the less satisfaction you are likely to receive.
Enough said.

Excellent reply vbrules!

BTW, bidded for any 2 weeks in JUL / AUG and then 1 week in Feb for skiing and got exactly that! Needless to say that limiting peak leave to 2 weeks helps as well.
Ciao

Got what I asked for.
The people that expect peak every year just dont understand the system. If you have not had peak and still dont get it then you have a case.

Every year I get peak leave, this year included.
It alternates between the 3 peak periods. You can't expect to get Christmas off every year thru leave, although you can expect to get it thru days off in the top two bidding groups. If you're not getting it off then you need to see the bid support group.

I didn't gat any peak leave... and I wasn't specific. I asked for a range of dates for all peak times available and got squat!!!

Was offered non-peak leave only... Wow. Thanks guys. Should be an interesting year in the desert.
