Gulf Air opportunities

I have recently noticed that GF is taking rated and non-rated FO as well as non-jet fellows. On their career website there are three different vacancies is there any difference on the pay-check? If it is the case is it substancial?

There minimum requirements for the non-jet fellows (my case) is minimum 2000 hours TT of which 1000 should be on 20000kgs plus A/C... I have only 1600+ TT, 600 PIC on CASA 212 (MTOM 6500kgs). Do I stand a chance?

If anyone can answer me these questions I would be pretty much obliged.

Cheers.

I think your time is a little light and low to be honest. At the moment all new hires are type rated on the 320, however that said, always go ahead and put in a CV, it can never hurt trying.

C212-100 - Off course you stand a chance! I know of a fellow who joined Gulf Air 2 years ago with only King Air time. I myself only had turbo-prop time and a number of other guys joined with ATR time. If you are serious about joining, you will be looked at with your hours. Applying through the career website will probably only get you noticed but not taken seriously given that you do not meet the minimum requirements. However, if you are able to send the recruitment team an email directly or give them a call, your cv will definitely be taken seriously.

All the best!

As of now, the intakes are all rated on the 'bus..non-rated will be considered after the 'bus rated folks..keep trying

And no, there is no difference in the package for rated, jet, or otherwise..once you are onboard, regardless of your previous qualifications, you get the same pay..

Thank you very much for all the replies. Times are getting really competitive these days... I know that... Some 2 years ago it was all so more easy... Best of luck for you all!

Sonic,

It is not possible to provide the e-mail of those folks on recruitment, is it?

I would love to try the sandpit and GF seems like a very familiar and friendly environment for my interpersonal skills. But if I give it a try trough the career site I will be ruled out. I am lacking in hours and in weight.

Cheers.

Hows life in Bahrain? Seems like Gulf Air has been keeping a low profile with all the Emirates and Etihad news around.

I think its on the low side, basic salary is 2100 bd(Bahrain Dinar). +550 for housing or 650 if married. There's another thread that speaks about housing and costs. IMHO, they're due for an increase as I hear they're an overworked bunch.

1 Dinar = $2.65 (mas o menos)

Casa 212-100

Sorry to burst your bubble...my man!! Good friend of mine has close
to 3000 hours & currently flying on NGs in Europe, and up to now hasn't
had any call from GF. You have got to try though....but I wouldn't bet on it!! 2
years ago things were different..now a days GF can pick & choose who
they want with the proper jet time/qualifications....etc. Today's market
is little bit different with economic crises than 2 years ago....... and you
can't blame them for being choosy. Good Luck!!

All the best for 2009

8000 hours total time, over 3000 hours jet PIC
A320 typed with over 1800 on the BUS as instructor/check airman and nothing yet, but it doesn't mean you wouldn't get the call, keep trying and dont give up if that's where you want to be. The above post is correct in saying time' have change. Good luck....

USAscabby what ever your name is, its about 2100 basic + 1.5 bd/hour time away + 6 bd/hour block time which usually comes up to 2800-3000 bd a month = 7500 US$/month (5000 Stirling) tax free + you get the majority of your house paid for. All that for being a 320 F/O. Doesn't seem that low to me, but yes they make you work hard and your roster is written by muppets.

Hey Shirley, why the attitude in your post? My post was right on, basic salary is what I posted! Everything else is dependant on hours flown. I hear that some months you fly more than other months. And some months you fly less.
Therefore, that would be income NOT recommended to plan on, or spend BEFORE you have it in your hands. But then again, I'm conservative with my money. And I don't count my chickens before they hatch, hmmm.
