Etihad 320 CCQ+MFF 330 ???
Hi!!
Anybody knows about the true situations right now on 320-330 ccq and mff? A320 started almost a year and now seem likes there is nothings officially from the top. The last one I saw was mail from the chief said there will b 4+6+4 f/o for doing ccq, but just the number not the namelist. Will these b by staff no. or senior list? 'Cos I saw a guy who joined in April get this while somes who joined Jan still flying the same old roster. Even somes said new joiner last month whatever they are, all go for 330.
Anyone can give the true informations? This month there will b new 1 a/c + 2 on Dec. So seem likes who's on minibus still b on these for a while... Last month I had AMM+DAM+CCJ, 3 nights in a row...what a roster!!!! I expect to hear or see something from mngmt but seem likes they do not have guts to do!!! Heard from some skippers that everytime they asked the cheif or fleet trng mngr, things they got is " on process with GCAA", "short of manpower for trng", "short of 320 crw" etc..
If they didn't say anythings like "6 months, ccq then mff" from the first, many will be a lot more happy than this.......
Happy Flying.....

Nobody will know the truth even the managers themselves. One thing you need to learn is not to have any expectation, seeing is believing and life around here have full of surprises.
If u get used to the above... you'll get passed your day to day endeavor somehow less painful.
MFF has been a topic for ages... I believe it is unprecedented in this region. The work was probably under estimated. It will come one day but don't hold your breath for it.

MFF is not that complicated when there is a synergy within the airline. The work? Applying one unique standardization on both fleet.
Some highly ranked people think that being seated at 6m iso 4m and flaring at 50 iso 30 ft should be a privilege...or they just realized that the A320 fleet network demands a bit more than they are willing to give to best new leading airline.
The process has been slowed down many times. Etihad (management) should stop taking GF as an example and copy/pasting ideas, rules and procs without thinking! They realized that GF was only MMFing 320/330 their instructors...not their "common" pilots...If at GF they are stupid enough not to use the full flexibilty enabled by MFF, let them do!
If MFF hasn't become a reality by March 09...something could be wrong (another excuse like MFF safety survey, 330 staff shortage, what else...?)

What cowboys?...would appreciate some details...
Safety dept busy?...well have you ever wondered why? This is just about stastistics. I'll give you a clue: a/c cycles hence occurences probabilities.
And maybe (some of) the safety dept should stop sending unnecessary mails like print out showing a taxi speed of 32 kts...(can someone remind me what's the IRS error tolerance is...)
Last safety reports I had mostly showed wide body events, but let's wait till Dec.

Non Safety issues
320 Fleet is as safe as all others or even better.
Consider a 320 lands ten times a day it is a week landings on A340.
So probability of exceeding the taxi speed or using reversers at less than 70 kts or flaring a bit high is more than A340.
Consider also that a lot of 320 flights are training you should expect these issues to come out.
But the 320 operation is as safe as all the others as it is one department.
320 330 MFF??? can the 330 guys handle the A320 operation??could be that is the issue??
MFF works both ways 320 -330 -320!!!!

I think the posting was hinting that the fleet had a lot of non standard operators, I dont think anyone said it was an unsafe fleet!
Why on earth could 330 guys not handle the 320 operation??, the 340 and the 777 do the short hops so what is the big deal
