Dear Directive Captain

Dear Captain,

Pls, Lets talk about true to people,

the new rule that was on course without consulting, it was
3 riyals ( less than 1usd ) per dutty hour.

The set

771 , 772, 242 starting at 4 45 and finishing at 15 26 Gives you a Dutty of 10:41

this set involves two meals, Breakfast and Lunch. for those hours we will recieve 32 SAR aprox (8usd).

1. A single meal in the airport is about 45 SAR (12 usd) so that , times 2. total of 90 sar (24usd)

so 90 SAR against 32 Sar = -58 ( red numbers)

2. there is not time to buy anything, first because in JED we have to take a Bus to the AC, then, ALE doesn't have any restaurant. then coming back to JED we have to take the bus , do migration to come back to the AC in 1 hour. so the only place that were we can have time to buy and to eat is on the AC, on the AC there is no MEAL! NAS sells SNACKS that cannot be considered a MEAL. Sandwich, wraps, nuts... those are not meals.

2. Crew Meal is on our Job Offer and that goes attached with the contract. that was broken !!!

3. I Did Like the food.

4. We are talking about a safety issue flying with hunger, it can affect the way you react, in any situation. BASICS of physiology.

5. Captain, you want to cut cost? , ok

Let's start with the training of pilots, that spend 8 month , 6 months, etc without flying because the extreme desorganization inside operations.
there is always a factor, or no instructor for the IOE, or GACA checkrides etc... , solution Put discipline over there.

We can do Idlle Descents to save fuel. ?

Or we can talk about single engine taxi, to save fuel ?

Or we can save fuel also by starting the APU just turning inbound to the gate.?

Those are measures that helps a lot to reduce cost on airlines.

Captain, we are not happy, and there is nothing more unsafe in aviation than a pilot flying upset.

The people at the top of the pyramid dont get it. We all understand that NAS can not keep hemorrhaging the coin that it has been. If this airline had been any other, without the deep pockets that it has, we would be speaking about NAS in same breath as SAMA. What I dont understand, is that new boys seem to have some experience in this game (Easyjet). Getting rid of the crew meals is tolerable. I actually liked the meals. It was good to know that if you were hungry, it was there.

But, we were being held to ransom by Saudi Catering. So it had to go. What is not acceptable is the measly 3 SARs per duty hour that has been offered as a replacement. This amount is inline with our competition ?? Who is that ?? To buy a sh!tty chicken/tuna/cheese roll onboard cost 15 SARs, 20 if you want the meal. So if you are to do a 13 hour duty day, you still dont have enough to cover 2 meals. C'mon management, does that seem right ? There has been no further mention of getting it for cost price as was discussed in company email. As previously written, there is not enough time between turns to go into the terminal, get your meal and eat it. Certainly not if you want it hot!! Now the figure that was given to employees made it very expensive to feed us. None of the employees need to profit from this, but just give us enough to cover the food, that we now bring to the aircraft in our Hyper Panda plastic bags.

I thought that one of the most expensive costs to an airline is fuel, second only to labor ? Why is it that we are told to flog through the sky at .78 regardless of our arrival time. 25 mins early?? Dont bother to think about LRC boys, keep that CO2 footprint the size of a sasquatch ! Idle descents ? Nope, I want those engines roaring! The APU is only a small little guy, so let's start that up as part of our after landing checks, then taxi from 33L to gate 36 !! Aircraft taxi on 1 engine dont they ? What about using a cost index ? If we are to become a low cost airline, then implement procedures that cut costs in a big way! Now these aren't items that I have made up, these are part of our mashed up SOP's. Cant you see that you are spending all of this money on fuel, yet cutting corners elsewhere, burns us.

And now, we are going to be paid according to scheduled block hours. Cant see to many boys considering fuel savings, can you ? Might see your fuel costs go up, keep an eye on that. Not a threat at all, but a lot of guys will now be in a rush to arrive early, that is for sure. Rant over ! There is plenty more, but dont want to tie up all of my time. As for grandstanding ooderbs, this is not the case here. I am writing this on this forum cause the anonymity is required at NAS.

Danger contagious

Looks like one more carrier in saudi arabia is going downhill; the bussiness model is right?
I have been with the other low cost one, they shut down and were not bankrupt, didn't follow the contracts, nor rules, nor legal regulations in the country. So if you guys think this one will do, be carefull. Looks like expats are better to stay away of Saudi Arabian companies, they use not to pay employees rights on contracts. It happened to all the employees of the other one.
Owners are still there, richer.
I wish you guys a better place to work.
cheers,

D

NAS

ooderbs, I hope thats not a cheeky threat there at the end of your post?
It's quite simple and I have seen it many times. When the company starts screwing around with the crew then they are on the way out.
Game over and end of story!
Instead of shafting eveyone they should be doing their level best to help and sort out problems.
You have obviously never read "I am an army of one"
Says it all my friend.
Happy landings!
Think about it, 14 hour days with no decent food!
No one else would ever put up with this.
The food is not eaten because it's the cheapest of cheap and only taken as a last resort. But to charge crew for water? All it does is infuriates and alienates the crew from the company. Not good for public image which is what sells the return seats in an airline.
I rest my case!

It is still a good company

There is many good things in the company , the flying is easy , weather is good for flying all year and the crew are nice and friendly .
Now it is not easy to keep some ppl happy no matter what you do , but for a lot of reasonable ppl it is really good , and they like it here .
I personally do not agree with the meals removal , but it is true that it was costing a fortune , yet the compensation was not fair .
Pitching and wining is a common practice unfortunately for a lot of ppl in nas . Thanks to PPRuNe they have a chance to do that here

No more opinions from non qualified Captains ( even if you have 8000hrs on type)

No more tailored rosters with your room mate or girlfriend

From now on you got to watch your back, it is your turn

No Doubt about NAS stability.

the ironic think is that the airline is being profitable, and as that happen , the directors start to cut benefits and they fail to fulfil the contract and job offer clauses.

so what will be next step, to remove the Education Allowance , or travel Allowancce????? becasue we are not studying or we are not traveling ?

Sct Derby fired coz of his snaky way, orders and support. Sct gave jeremy (genius scheduler) an order to give Fly Ginger tailored roster, as jeremy said. So he deserve it.

Most of the gang are out now, still some mice to be kicked out.
