It depends on 2 things.
1; What flydubai requires. That's this;
Qualification Criteria
So most guys that do it quickly upgrade after about 18 months. Average is 2.5-3 years. As an FO expect around 750hrs per year.
As soon as you hit all these criteria you can apply. It's not seniority based. Depending if there is a backlog or not you can expect to have your interview quickly. After that is successfull you'll be looking at weeks to a few months till the start of your upgrade training. With many aircraft about to enter I expect it to go quite sharpish.

Qualification Criteria
- A valid UAE ATPL.
- A current Class 1 Medical.
- Minimum 12 months service with flydubai from date of Initial Line Check.
- Minimum 2 Successful OPC/LPC.
- Assessed as suitable for Command by the SVP Crew Training and SVP Flight Operations.
- Total flight time minimum 4000 hrs.
- 500 hrs previous on type and 500 hrs at flydubai OR 1000 hrs minimum on flydubai 737-800.

And of course you are bonded for upgrade, two years BUT it doesn't run concurrently with the bond when you join.
So if you join as a type rated f/o you will have an initial bond of three years. If you upgrade after two years your total
bonded period with flydubai will be five years.
you may think that won't be a problem, but five years is a long time if you or your family don't enjoy it.

Flew with a guy the other day who's wife gave birth to their 2nd one and they didn't pay a penny. Same as with their first one in DXB. Normal birth. They said the healthcare was fantastic. I haven't heard many horror stories to be fair. You also gotta know where to go for which condition. That can help big time too.
Every time I need to visit a doctor with my kids I know which one to go to in order to get the quality but also pay peanuts. I've been really pleased so far with the medical care.

Lots of great reply’s, thanks to everyone.
I did the video interview yesterday. I was expecting to get a call today and I just realize that I missed a call from a Cambodian telephone number. Would that have been Flydubai HR?

Ok thanks for the info! Would the next step be to get invited to the Assessment center?
Will they offer you a Job based on the Assessment center or do we need to travel to Dubai for a final interview?
Thanks again!

They ask 3 questions. I don’t recall the exact phrasing but I’ll try.
1) Tell me something not on your resume
2) TM about a work achievement
3) TM why you want to work here?? Or why you are a good fit here? Or what you bring to the company?? Not sure exactly the question.
You have 30 seconds to prepare each question and the question and be up to 3 mins long.
It says you can redo each question but I did not get and redos so make sure you are ready when you start recording.
I dint think I did a good job with my answers so I will let you know if I hear anything.
I did get an email reply right after that said the would review and contact me shortly.

I did my video interview in the terminal waiting for my ride to land. I reckon it's a screening for genuine ELP level 4 or higher claimants. I did put some thought into my content but didn't answer in any way where it would justify an automatic pass.
The reply did take a couple of days, so just have some patience. Good luck.

That is on a case by case basis and totally dependent on each family.. There is no answer for that.. some love it and some hate it.. I personally dont mind the actual living here, but its the company and some rather suspect rules here that wear you down a lot faster than actually living here (and also the constantly increasing cost of living with hardly any pay increase).
There are quite a few airlines we get staff travel tickets on, and more are added every now and then, but some are rather useless and I doubt anyone actually uses them. Emirates/Etihad/KLM etc are the bigger ones you have access to. The medical is ok but dont plan on having a kid in dubai on the medical we have,, I heard it costs you a kidney and a liver donation to pay for it..

Lufthansa, Air France, Air Canada, Air Alaska, Southwest Airlines, Delta, Spirit, Jet Blue, Azul, Ethiopian, Qantas, Gol, Swiss, and many, many more...
