Do they currently hire first officers? Or just captains?
Whats the best way to apply (directly to them or to an agent) ?

If you want jet hours as an FO , go for it , just do not ever expect a command . A few guys I knew there finally gave up , passed the EK interview with no probs , are very happy there , and are cruising towards Command while being looked after very well indeed . EK need you and want you . Omanair need you but don't want you . Go figure .

I'm looking at Oman Air as a F/O and are rated on Embraer with 3000TT.
A few questions to see if info is still current;

- monthly salary incl all allowances. (Say 60block hrs and married with kids)
- fleet transfer possible to 737NG? (Heard many stories about this)
- as per poster above it's 5-7 years before command but don't expect anything as I will be expat??? True???
- Any bond when joining?
- How are you treated? Do you have to be constantly weary of management?
- Is Oman expensive to live? Do most expats live far away from airport/city?

I heard many good things about Oman but need some extra info before jumping ship before the axe comes down.

Many thanks!!!!

Looks like they will be needing a fleet captain who is soon to be replaced
Just another potential incident that makes the dailies. Diverted due to legalities? Who s writing this stuff? Indian authorities are sceptical of WYs official response.

Weird!
Did he leave with insufficient fuel to start with?
Why would a fleet captain loose his job over this, (unless he was the captain on this flight)?

No one from HR gets back to you? Facts are they never come to work. When they do they bury themselves under a paper pile and play on the mobiles. Unfortunately the tide has changed for the worst. Blame the other guy tribal mentality. The day to day running of the airline is decided at the board level. Simply clueless and dangerous.
Better opportunities up the road. If your desperate apply.....but they know it and treat you that way. 737 carrier up the road treats the hardworking with the respect and has a future. Best decision I have made.

O
Ironbird, you look not very experienced, looking for a FO job. The only questions you ask is about money, and conditions.
I am a NG trainer. I would like to fly with you for a sector or two, and see what YOU have to offer to the paying pax.

Latetonite,
So you are an NG trainer, that is very nice, good for you. What the hell does experience have to do with people's PRIORITIES. Obviously you are there, you have reached and I have not. I asked three simple questions, I don't believe anything too difficult, so if you don't have anything constructive to add, then with all due respect please mind your business.

I agree with Ironbutt, there is nothing wrong in asking the terms and conditions. If all of these is secret and we are not supposed to ask then why do we need this forum anyway?
