wet t-shirt contest at company housing in Qatar?
Qatar Airways pilots living at Ain Khalid Gates, did I miss the memo last week that this multi international/cultural community is being forced back into the 1920's? Or is it that we westerners are being harrased by the minority that lives here?
Who was granted the power to be the fashion police over what our wives wear at the pool? And ourselves as well. IN OUR OWN HOME AND IN OUR OWN SWIMMING POOL?! And why was such power granted to such an unreasonable person?
Is it less offensive to see the people in the pool wearing traditional bathing suits, that which can be found in 99% of the world (including here in doha) or should all women be required to participate in the "wet t-shirt" event that is the new rule at the swimming pool?
At what point will this airline stop making mistake after mistake and behave like the 5 star airline that they claim to be. Do they not realize that with a decision like what they just did here, at our home, they are quickly becoming the joke of the international aviation industry?
I offer you all to come and take a look at what is going on at the pool. Bring your camera and send the pictures to your friends. NOBODY in their right mind will believe it to be true.

it is about time the housing/wellfare officer to stop writing dum crewnotices and do something usefull - get that stupidity off the pool's window!

This is too non sense to be considered as a rule. 
I personally will not follow this stupid rule. 
Not to mention the other one about plants in front of the houses. If we keep on giving credit to this crazy landlord, I don't know where it will stop. Anyway, just another incentive for QA pilots...

Yea they are stupid. But what to expect.
Soon the HR dep. will knock your door to check if your are having a barbecue, drinking beer and having fun.
Personally, I think you should all buy some new swim wear for your wifes (bikini) and at the same time buy a nice big tree to put in front of your house.
Come on. Stand up like a man and do not take more **** from the HR.
Try GO sport at Villagio and the Green Plant behind the Fruit and W marked.

Its all been fixed by CEO himself! He gave the Owner of the Compound 48hrs to remove the rule or else take him to court.

A little bird told me that a very angry man has taken a swim in said pool after rubbing his body in bacon fat. The real stuff too; yeah, not that turkey crap for wanna-be-free people.

I heard it was a fat pig covered in pig fat that was wallowing in that pool. Only just the other day too. Left behind more than a black stain, apparently.

I heard the "mullah" pilot's wife was swatted by one of the ladies. Apparently she was wearing something not to the fanatic's liking and was hit by her. In response, she decked the mullah's wife. The police were called. If true, what happened after that?

Was is true is that a social terrorist did recently swim in that pool covered in pig fat. But it was a couple of weeks ago after a separate argument with his idiot neighbor. And it wasn't bacon fat. He had smuggled in 3 tubs of chinese roast pork from Hong Kong and rubbed himself down with the thick pool of grease in the bottom of each. Disgusting.... yes! He was pissed and will be departing the goat circus shortly. Long live the Pig Swimmer!

have you not visited the official Qatar visitors web page? Have you not read Marhaba? apparently not. because if you had, you would be aware of the fact that qatar is promoting tolerance. in clear words, the country is islamic, but tolerant. the landlord, however is not. shiny jets or not, this does not give the wives of said islamic shiny jet drivers the right to abuse both verbally and physically those who are not. we live in both a compound that is multi cultural and a country that promotes tolerance. we do not live in saudi. bottom line, if our women are not required to wear abayas outside of this compound, they certainly should not be required to be subservient to the islamic ways inside the compound, which is our home.
we, or at least i have a mind of my own.
i ask, who is the muppet? those who follow blindly or those who question and argue for what is just and fair? or at the very least, the middle of the road so that everyone can live in a state of tolerance.
with regard to the pool issue...i stopped by the pool today and i am happy to report that it was back to bikini land. so whatever happened
