QR Medical

Reference the QR medical - remember that it is an initial issue medical.

An initial issue medical is a bit more demanding than a recurrent medical.

Bear this in mind if you have any medical 'issues' that you are worried about (or you are an older candidate) as this 'may' cause you issues on arrival.

Needless to say, although you may hold a valid Class 1 in your home country, it doesn't guarantee you an Initial Class 1 in QR.

First flight available taking you home if they are not happy with something.

Boeing ntr

Hi all,

I'm a 320/330 skipper in one of the big middle eastern airlines.
Interested in joining QR as DEC. I have 3000 hrs PIC and 2000 widebody PIC. Any chance I can get on to the boeing fleet as ntr. If the 330 is my only option.. What is the life style and the roster like on the 330 ?

Hi there.
Quick question - Got lots off twin Jet command time but only 1500 hours PIC on the 320. Any change of getting in on the Airbus fleet as DEC ?
I am already in the older gentleman category and would love to spend a couple of years doing something different.

Is that your best attempt at english ?

Please remain in the pool.

I don't want you anywhere near my flightdeck.

Obbie,

It's people with your attitude that shouldn't be in a flight deck.

If you're amazed that people like GD pass the english test, then I'm in awe how you passed the psych test if there ever was one when this outfit hired you!

Please retire! You need it.

Thumbs down Not CRM!

Mr Obbie,

Actually I don't want to share a flightdeck with a person like you that thing that others are no good enough to share that privilege spaces with you.
Your post against GD shows your ignorance about respect and CRM.

Is Qatar hiring any DEC's for the A380 or A350? I am currently flying the A340, I know Qatar has them but I doubt they are hiring for the A340 at the moment.

Another thing I wanted to ask that I heard to go out of the country you need to get some form stamped by the employer? is that true? If I have like 3 or 4 days off and I want to go to another country then I would need the company's written permission?

No DEC on A380 and A350. In your case you'll probably get the A330 fleet.

It's true that you need the company permission to get out of the country however you can apply for a multi-exit visas after a few months so you can go and come back as you like without asking for permission each time.

Has anyone, especially F/O's, recently been invited for an interview? If so, kindly pm me.
Also, approximately how long is it taking to hear back for an interview date from the time one applies?
And lastly, what fleet can be expected? I am applying for first officer airbus position as I am currently flying the A320 with 1500 odd hours on it.
Thanks alot. Appreciate the info.

Command upgrade

Whats the command upgrade policy in the OMA, is it upgrade on the same fleet you are or you go down to smallest aircraft type...
A330/380 F/O ->A320 CAPT???
B777/B787F/O ->A320 CAPT???

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know what the deal is with the hold pool at the moment?

It seems things have started moving again as Ive been invited for interview after not hearing anything for about 9 months after applying.

Also, does anyone know if its still completely random as to which sim you'll do the assessment on or are they putting Airbus guys on Airbus and Boeing on Boeing?

Thanks

Sally,

Last year wen I did my SIM, they put me on the B777. I am B737 pilot. I was the only Boeing guy at the time. My FO, unfortunately, was from the Airbus and he had to deal with it.
What position did you applied for?

Good luck!
