@captain.weird

I have just read the article in the flight training news. I don't think it will be fully sponsored, why should they. Get yourselve a copy of the Flight Training News, or speak to CTC directly they should have all the answers.

Does anybody know when the delivery date is for QR's first A320NEO? I think on they their website they still need to take delivery of a few A320 ''classics''

NTSO's

Dear Swimmers,

The manager of the recruitment has confirmed the easing of the requirements for NTSO. He said: "To be honest, there is NO need for SO's (FT/NT) in the next financial year. All the So's needed are drawn from the Qatar Aviation College. This may change of course, but this is the most likely scenario. There might be a requirement for some FTSO's in November next year, on a merit base."

To be short, SO's try this year with another airline and join Qatar as a FO or Captain. Your courage for waiting may not be rewarded.

Cheers,

If that is the reality they should tell us in the FEB update how the things are so we can move ahead.

If this is the reality, QR can go look for its pilots somewhere else. It could have been a great thing. I am too waiting since a long time. But if they make me wait for another year - they can kiss me goodbye.

As many wrote already - youre always only as good as your last flight. Everybody knows that someone can have a bad day. No problem, security goes first, go around. Not in this company. There is no forward planning, there is inequality amongst different nationalities within scheduling and payment, there are random terminations and no unions. Cabin Crews are reporting each others like crazy to get promoted faster or to get their head out of the guillutine. Cabin Seniors have more to say than most Flight Deck Crew, as they threaten to report if they have a bad day.

Of course it is not always like that. There are nice colleagues and happy people as well. Some of the stuff I am willing to accept.

To be honest, I wouldve come for the ME experience and the money, and pay my debt with hard work. But I wont make a fool out of myself just because they like me to do that. And I am not wasting good time of my life to be their puppet.

Lets see end of February.

Just another bunch of conflicting info. Some people in the recruitment department says yes, and some of them says no. I think it all depends to who you speak to on the day. I don't know who and what to believe anymore. The only thing that I do know is that I am not sitting and waiting for QR anymore.

NTSO / FTSO

Hello guys,

I too have heard from someone in recruitement:
'no Normal SO's anymore in 2013, and a very small number of some FTSO's might be needed --> second half 2013'.

The truth? I still don't know.

What I do know is that a friend of mine (FTSO), has been in and especially OUT of the country of QR since march 2012. Even as of today he still is in his home country on paid leave waiting to start his line training. Matching rumours with these facts, I guess we are in for a bad 2013...

If its ID90 or ID50 it is not free, is it?

Common sense... ME seems to have a lack of it.

(Family members can travel ID90 Economy though)

Does anyone know what this means?

I was interviewed for F/O position B777 in May 2012 (type rated with 4000hrs on type). Was accepted and put in the pool with an expected update at end of November. Since I received no update by mid January I emailed them. They replied saying that I: 'didn't receive an update as I am no longer in their talent pool. You will receive an update in a few weeks from us.'
Does this mean that I am about to get a contract sent to me? Does it mean that I have been dumped from the system? Anyone know how I should read this????

This would be very ridicolous if they really didnt take those people. There are Tunesians flying for Qatar Airways now.

Also the country/state of Qatar is believed to support the islamistic "terrorists" which now are in northern Mali with weapons and communication technologies.

During the Lybian crisis they financed the rebels and played along with NATO on the other side.
But some of those rebels turned out to be quite radical and are now among the riots in Mali.

If you take Syria for example its the same thing. Financing rebel groups with weapons on the one side and granting Assad political asylum in Doha on another one. Its all readable in the news if you know what to look for...

Hypocrats! Trying to look good from the outside, but rotten on the inside.

@ Speedhold

Was the e-mail you received this morning a reply to an earlier mail you sent them? People from Recruitment / HR seem to give complete random answers to questions asked by those contacting them!!!.

Or was the e-mail sent to you without any previous corresponding? (except for your previous updates..).

I have sent them multiply emails as i have not heard anything since july 2012 . I really needed to know whats going on . Today they emailed me saying this from a recrutiment coordinator . This same person told a friend of mine that i wasnt in the pool in august 2012 when he asked about my status as he was in doha getting his resdient permit and medical . So honestly I really dont know whats going on as in the email they say that is there iis a vacant position then i may get called sooner. Its a shame that there is not a concrete answer as when im suppose to join ..

I know how you're feeling.
I personally got the message that I'm definetly not needed in 2013. I highly doubt I will be given the opportunity to join at all..It has been over 1 year since my interview and I know others that have been waiting for 15 months+ since their interview as of today.
Fact is I (and many others) applied as NTSO and they probably just don't need us anymore.

For you I think it's a different scenario. They have been saying they need 700+ pilots a year at least for the coming years.

I really don't understand what is going on. The e-mail you received is once again very short and confusing (I highly doubt the guy that replied to you knows your file, ie the fact that you already got your offer!!), why is there no one in QR that has the politeness, willingness and the balls to tell us what is really going on and more importantly: WHAT we can expect!?

Very clear message for those who qualify and have good experience: EK and the other big UAE airline should be your top choices in the Gulf. Simple as that. If you haven't already, send out your apps as soon as possible.
