Hi,
Yes I do. I just got the invitation fpr the online psycho. Test.. I did it. it was not too difficult however, it was not so easy too.

So, just wondering how many guys have failed this online test??
When should I expect to get a feedback for the skype interview ?

As a 737 Pilot you should have no concern and won't need any training whatsoever. You dont need to press buttons and the PFD doesnt really change to the 737 (just a bit bigger).
In fact, its 10 times easier to fly, as it is fly-by-wire. You only need to trim when there's a change in speed (when youll feel the force on the control column)
Hope that helped
Belated thanks on the sweat box feedback Taviator, I’m sure it would have helped immensely had ‘Sods Law’ not thrown a curveball last minute!

So there I was at the Sim centre in DOH, fully prepped post research on all things Dreamliner via YouTube’s, SIM enthusiast forums, Avgeek apps and what have you, when BOOM! Sim schedule change (went tech I think) last minute & they end up putting us (3 RHS NTR guys) on the Triple & guess who went first?! *Gulp*

As for the Sim profile it was pretty straightforward:
  • Manual Take off (No FDs but A/T on) follow SID off RWY 16R
  • Outbound on climb out, ding from the cabin, passenger heart attack scenario!
  • So with the decision making mouth music part over and done with, we returned to DOH, on vectors (I got given some really tight intercept vectors) for the ILS 16R, both AP failed= Raw Data ILS (honestly I found this bit the hardest, it is,Ly over controlling as I couldn’t gauge the FBW trim ops, so I held the force on the column & just stubbornly danced my way down on the LOC/GS keeping them within limits praying for the sight of PAPIS. Finally broke cloud at minimums (CAT1 preset Wx) landed...a little firmly mind, ahem (do not use the 737 FCTM landing technique, flare earlier)
  • Reposition - EFATO (much easier then the 737, no rudder trim required once airborne ). Flew a decent V1 cut profile, accelerated & levelled off & then flight freeze.
  • Reposition - 12NM intercept for a S/E ILS, this time with FD available & A/T (hallelujah), all the way to minimums for SE G/A.
The End.....I was personally ushered & evacuated back to the main reception area with the quickness where my transport back,to the hotel awaited me.

Overall core competencies assessed were - Problem solving, Decision making, Workload management, Communication & finally Flight path management - Manual handling skills. One thing I’ll say is in sim, make sure you make full use out of the other guy in a PM roles, use your companies SOPs, checklist flows, application of procedures during the whole ordeal & involve the other guy throughout when needed, if you don’t speak, ask, say, request anything, then expect the other guy to remain mute as a mannequin!

Thankfully, the verdict I received at the end of October was of a positive note *phew* , Swimming for now awaiting fleet allocation & DOJ details etc, does anyone have any idea of how many lengths in the pool before you get paperwork formalities via email etc?

p.s: I think out of the 6 (including me) chaps that were at the SIM stage, only 2 got the ‘ yay you made it’ email. So yea, good luck guys and girls, make sure you prep well, especially if you make it all the way to the Stimulator stage!

What do you mean?
Are they not hiring Boeing rated pilots at the moment?

When you determine your flight time for application, is your line training time added to it?

Hello all !! Just a quick question. I heard that Qatar has an attrition rate of over 30 percent. Is there any truth to that and if so why ? Thanks guys !!!!

Nonsense as far as Flight Deck goes... we have let’s say 4000 pilots give or take. 30% would be 1333 per year = over 100 per month. There are pilots of course leaving every month for the usual reasons but nowhere near that number.

Even including the cabin crew who I suspect have a higher attrition % than pilots the number just doesn’t make sense. We have well over 10,000 cabin crew... the airline would cease to operate with that quantity of people leaving.

The numbers are far from accurate, but they are high. If you dig for the reasons you'll find it,but not here...

Hey Tonker,
Congrats,
I’m in the holding pool as well since 3 weeks (TR Boeing Fo)

Were you flying 737’s before?
Which fleet did they offer to you?

Are you joining for the left or right hand seat.
And I assume you are a 737 to 787 transition is that correct.
Cheers

Hi there.

On my current Class 1 medical, I have 3 limitations.
OML, SSL and SIC.

The OML is because I’ve had an eye condition which I was grounded for while it lasted. And then I got the SIC which basically means, that I have to get regular checks in my eye, as it might return quite suddenly. After the checks, I must report to my AME and licensing authority.

Would you think, that Qatar would reject my application or would they accept these limitations, as they are just precautionary and just states that I have to undergo regular checks with a specialist?
