Great lifestyle, I can only recommend it to everyone because the city is also so nice and your family will love it. If you are single you will love our fantastic cabin crew as well. They might not say hello to you because you are most likely someone who earns too much for doing nothing, while at the same time just trying to sleep with them on layovers and they know from the company that it's better not to hang out with you (I told you already that the company is smart).
Before I forget, the culture and the positive developments in every aspect of how they run the airline really inspired me.

I really think that I will miss the DOH LAX flight without day off or the cargo runs with min rest every second flight because we have an effective fatigue management system which is entirely embedded in the usual just culture.
Please come and take my place when im gone after my notice is done, the seat will still be warm and I haven't farted a lot recently.

Plenty of operators begging for your talent. Feel free to vote with your feet. That'll teach them.

I believe more of a presentation and meeting....think they are now doing some of the basic interview processes at the roadshow to help and narrow down the list.......but those selected will still come to Doha for the remaining parts of the assessment

I would suggest you as an individual can go to as many roadshows/ interviews as you like. If you are worried about EK finding out you went to a Qatar intrerview, I would politely suggest you think about that.

How should they find out? Do you think there is an international Roadshow Attendance Register? I think most of the airlines know nowdays that their candidates visit more screenings...

exactly! ďIfĒ they monitor and try to influence you so much at this point it should be a warning sign....although I ď highly ď doubt that is the case

very good for First Officers, good for Captís as well depending on who you speak too (you canít please everyone... some prefer good destinations, some days Off, some donít like Freighter, some want low hours, some high etc).

For FO (my job)... for many months now, roster has been between 45-65 for a full months flying (i.e no Leave), for a month with Leave, expect lower. Days Off have been good which is what interests me - can always get a block of 6... some very occasionally getting 2 blocks, with a total of between 9-14 days Off in the month. Some actually are complaining as they want higher flying time for more money. Itís not the best fleet for destinations but weíve got some decent ones at the moment e.g Bangkok, Kiev, Warsaw, Venice, Penang, KL (the less desirable ones being to China, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh - all subjective of course). We do Freighter... which can be hit and miss (Deadheading, delays etc) and provides more destinations. Most trips are generally layover - iím doing about 1 turnaround per month.

Can anyone in the Know shed some light on how the recruitment is going at QR?
How many screenings do they hold each month? Are they busy at the moment working on a backlog of hold pool pilots?
Are they a bit snowed under with applicants at the moment, or are they concentrating on a particular fleet?

Any information would be helpful.

Many thanks,

FBW

I copied the following from the pilot earnings thread in the T&Cs section of the forum;

For clarity, please post like this :
1) QR
2) RHS
3) 777
4) 3
5) Worked 230 days (of which 15 days off downroute), leave 42 days, off 94 days
6) All flights are with an overnight apart from line check
7) Block 1100 + 260 hours deadhead
8) NET approx 100.000,- for basic and flight pay
9) per diem depends on destination roughly 550,- to 750 euro a month, 3500,- housing + utilities
10) NET income 145.000,- euro per year

777 sounds a bit brutal to me!

education in QR: do they pay for overseas schools/university or only in Doha?

777 Capt: possible to achieve 4/5 + 3/4 consecutive days off per month to commute to Europe without company limitations (24hrs before departure at base, ULR, etc ...)?

Thank you
