Accommodation

What can I expect in terms of accommodation? I've been offered a non-flying role which includes company accommodation (normally a 3 bed apartment) or an allowance. The trouble is it seems that I need to choose now, without knowing what or where they will allocate me. From the research I've done I don't think I'd get much for the allowance that is on offer if I chose to go that route.

At the moment the rosters are extremely stable. Out of many people I know there, one was called out from a standby after a year or two with the company. It's nothing like the loco's with minimum crew factor-nonsense. Of course you never know if it the prevailing conditions will last forever...

I've just checked my Applicant page.
The status is: Interview Schedule Pending
I did the Personality Questionnaire and the Two Cognitive Tests. After that, I received an email with an approval for the next steps. I filled out all information necessary on their webpage. I'm waiting.

Hi Rodolfo,

I am about to apply to QT. Any tip on how to prepare for the Personality & Cognitive tests?
How long did it take before you got an answer after you applied.

Thanks.

And if you are an A320 capt ~8000 hrs, applying for an airbus rated DEC position means automatically you' ll end up on the 320? Or are there any cases whn people get long haul straight away?

Thanks

Hi Flyness

The Cognitive tests are like QI test, but with time to response. You must be quickly. They provide an example before you start, but is easier than the real one.
The personality test are questions about you. Be careful because some questions are asked twice or more, and you may fall in a trap - responding in different way.

I received the invite to these online test like 2 or 3 weeks after my application.

Good luck.

Hi
I digress a little from the original thread but cannot find any information through the search tab. I'm considering a job offer from Qatar and wasn't clear on one aspect. How do they support a pilot and his/her family's move to the country? I heard they give a complimentary 150kg allowance on their aircraft or offer a lump sum to make your own arrangements. If true, does anybody know what this lump payment offer is (or if it even exists)?
Frankly speaking for me with wife and a couple of kids 150kg won't get us very far at all!

Thanks in advance
