fooling doctors

Hi I am colour blind and was just wondering whether it is possible to pass the colour blindness tests by remembering the plates etc. Not that i am going to try or anything! I mention this because i have taken a few ishihara plate tests and they have all been the same. They can't all be the same everywhere can they?

Another thing that baffles me is that i come out red/green colourblind when i take the tests and when i tell people this they immediately say what colour is that and point to something green. I have absolutely no problem in telling them what the colour is and they then don't believe that i am colourblind. Same thing happened the other year when we went to Manchester airport at night and i could tell my friends exactly what colours the lights were on the runway. How about driving. I have no problem in seeing the traffic lights?

They are pretty standard, but I doubt you'd manage it.

As for the red / green thing, the problem you will have is more in distinguishing them apart than recognising them.
