UK - Do I require GP notes before Class 1?

I'm looking at getting a Class 1 medical before I start flying (aim is to eventually go for commercial). Is it advisable to ask my GP for my medical record beforehand to review myself? I know I have two separate incidents of work related stress which I'd have to declare. Would the AME require a report as well to take to the examination? If so, what format would they usually want?

yes you will need to send your GP notes to the AME for an initial class 1 and your entire medical history will be discussed for that first time

The last time I looked no notes were needed at the examination. If you answer yes to any of the questions your AME may ask for yout medical notes. Do NOT take your notes or offer them unless asked as it will at best delay your medical.

That being said it isnt a bad idea to ask for your GP notes. You have a right to them in the UK. Just check there are no loose diagnoses. Common examples are diagnoses of asthma for a single episode of an infection with a wheeze. You can then ask your GP to clarify their notes or add your comments.

Mental health issues can be a problem. I would ensure the symptoms are not embellished, the cause is clarified and hopefully short term, and that the matter resolved without further treatment. All this of course assumes this was the case.
