CAA Class 1 Medical- History of Depression
Hi, I will be applying for a CAA class 1 medical. About 10 years i received medication for depression for about 3 months before it being no longer required.
Will i likely require further investigation or will this not be a blocker? Thanks |
This will require likely referral to a psychiatrist for an assessment but shouldn't be a blocker given how long it's been.

Dealing with the CAA on this can be a bit of a process, but having it that far in the past is definitely in your favor. Usually, if it was a one-off episode over a decade ago and you’ve been off meds and stable ever since, it shouldn't be an outright blocker. You'll likely need to provide a report from your GP and maybe undergo a psychiatric assessment just so they can tick the box that there’s no risk of recurrence. It's more about the paperwork and proving "stability" than the actual history itself, so just stay organized with your medical records and be upfront during the exam.
