Flying with pacemaker

Hi All
Can someone answer or point me in the right direction please.
Friend of mine had heart attack and now needs pacemaker. Will he be able to fly on a PMD when pacemaker fitted?
He will be able to drive so in theory should be able to fly!
He wants to fly gliders, had a few lessons before attack.
There seems to be talk of needing a class 2 medical before first solo, would he pass. Class 2?
I have looked on CAAs useless website and everybody’s friend Google but can’t find anything conclusive in plain English.

This is what you are looking for

https://www.caa.co.uk/media/b55fp4td/pacemaker-fc.pdf

so it has to be the 'right' pacemaker and there are a series of time consuming and expensive tests

The heart attack also needs formal assessment before an initial Class 2 but a lot of the tests will be the same. If your friend is still on lots of drugs or has complications or symptoms it will be tough. If he considers he has made a full recovery he has a good chance.

Thanks Radgirl.
Thought I had seen a chart similar for other ailments previously but could not find it!
Guess the meds he on will be for life, blood pressure etc.
Sounds a right PITA for a medical he may need only once then self certify after that, if that’s what he could do going forward.
