Class 1 and hayfever
Hi guys.
Gonna go for my class 1 in the next two months however over the past 3yrs i've somehow managed to develop hayfever. Spoke to the doc who said it can appear at any time of life and vanish just as quick. The runny nose and itchy eyes can be helped by drugs but how will this effect my class 1? Anyone out there in the same situation or know about it? kempus |
i've had it all along!
actually got really bad a couple of times, but never stopped me from getting the medical.
i take sudafed ---the one marked non drowsy when ever needed, which sometimes is often, other times rarely if ever. and keep it in my flight bag. it was first recommended by a doctor that was giving me the first class medical in the states. from time to time, it will give trouble with blocking of sinuses and ears, but so will colds and flus or being around cats. changing location of residence takes some adjusting to. when i do that, i take on a significant amount of local honey onto my toast etc to help accomodate my system to the local pollens. also bee pollen tablets appear to help as well. but we get into the very fuzzy area of self help medical/ homeopath/vitamins gazeebo! but never was a factor in the medical. just tell them what they ask and no more. |
Firstly good luck with the class I! :ok:
I had hayfever as a kid, which seemed to just vanish. When i did have it, i used Flixonase (nasal spray), which i found brilliant. You can only get it on prescription though. It takes somewhere like 2 weeks to enter you system and during this two week period, you take 2 sprays, one in the morning and one in the evening. After it begins to work, you only need one spray a day. The hayfever will not be a problem with the class I. best of luck with it!! :} |
