Deviation on CAA Class 1
Here's another problem regarding eyesight, after a visit to the optometrist he concluded the following:
SPH CYL AXIS Right -5.25 +0.25 115 Left -4.75 +0.50 80 From reading several posts in the archives of this forum it appears that while being outside initial requirements for a JAA Class 1 medical, I could be considered for a deviation as I'm within renewal limits. Is there anyone in a similar situation that has successfully obtained a deviation and subsequently been granted a class 1 medical, if so I'd like to hear how you got on in your case. |
See a few threads down concerning deviation

Better still,I am one of those lucky persons who have been given the deviation. My right eye was outside the limits while my left passed the initial standards.Like mentioned read down a few posts as there should be some extensive stuff written on them.I know I was involved in them aswell, any questions don't hesitate to ask and drop me a line!!
Regards:ok: |
I speak merely as someone who has been offered a deviation but my personal opinion is that you stand a good chance of obtaining a Class I deviation with that prescription (assuming, of course, all else is well).
Of course no one but the mighty CAA can decide this though. Ring them - they're very helpful. If you can, talk directly with Mr. Chorley (chief optomotrist?). Best of luck, V1R :ok: |
