CAA and CBD
Does anyone know if CBD is banned by the CAA?
I can't find anything about it's use at all in their material, which seems odd considering how widely used it now is |
We had a presentation at work by a company that does D&A testing in the workplace. He was a retired UK policeman and it was a very interesting presentation.
CBD per se is not psycho active, however, most CBD products need a very small amount of THC to reach full efficacy. In a simple D&A test, CBD will trigger a "non negative" result. Therefore, you will be removed from duty until a lab test returns a negative to THC result. The advice given to us was to avoid any product with CBD while working. Given there's a good chance it may stay in your system for some time (eg hair) it may be well worth keeping well away from CBD unless formally prescribed and dispensed in a controlled manner. Keep well away from full spectrum products and it looks like broad spectrum products may ping a D&A test too. My company is governed by EASA. Other authorities may have different requirements. CBD |
