EASA state of issue

Can an AME authorised to conduct Initial Class 1 medicals in one EASA state request another EASA state to issue the physical certificate? I didn't believe this was possible but Latvia suggest you can. You simply put down the state of issue on the form (top left box) and it an be any state. This is is not a transfer question, this is about acceptance of an AME from one authority by another authority for the purposes of an initial medical.

Thanks

Isn’t that the whole point of EASA? So my EASA medical is on Austrian paper because that’s the authority my AeMC works to. They also do initial EASA medicals also on Austria paper which presumably is acceptable to other NAAs. Before Brexit I had colleagues with uk EASA licences but medicals (and thus presumably initials) from their own NAAs.

Honestly, I don’t know the answer. Perhaps give the good folk at centreline a call - they seem pretty clued up on it all and then come back here with the answer.

Good luck!

Thanks. I did, and the lady on the phone said clearly "we could give you one under the Austrian flag but you would have to convert to Malta yourself using the medical records transfer procedure"
