Flight Crew Exhaustion.

Dear Ppruners

Does anyone out there have access to any data (statistics) relating to the number of crew members that fall over, faint, have a seizure, run out of steam etc and are subsequently grounded, perhaps by just having a bad day and becoming dehydrated, overtired, stressed etc.

I was grounded a couple of years ago through this and I suspect that there are many out there that have suffered a similar outcome for the same reason. I also suspect that this is something that the authorities don't want to be widely known. It's a shame really as there must be quite a few perfectly fit crew members who, just with some simple lifestyle changes could be sent back to work.

Flight Time Limitations, company pressure etc. could be to blame for much of what goes on in this respect and it's down to the individual to look after themselves. Unfortunately the rules don't cover everyone and we are all different in some way. I won't ask the authority for the information as they've been reluctant to help on other issues of a similar nature.

Any help welcome.
