Medical Flight Test
Looking for some advice or if anyone has been through the same issue...
I have recently undergone surgery to reconstruct my ACL in my knee from a football injury. I currently have a Class 1 Medical but do not have a licence, I undertook the medical prior to COVID-19 to ensure I would pass and could enrol for training, all now put on hold for obvious reasons. When it comes to revalidating my Class 1 when the time is right I’ve been told I would require a medical flight test and a musculoskeletal report. How am I expected to complete a medical flight test when I currently don’t have a licence and only a few PPL hours logged? |
Hi Dan, a friend of mine had to have one done. It’s no biggie & you don’t need a current licence, it’s an assessment by an instructor/examiner, to make sure that any former illness/procedures you’ve had done don’t interfere with the process of a normal flight.
they will just be checking to ensure you can handle a flight normally after your former condition/surgical cure. |
Hi white light,
thanks very much for confirming, I thought that would be the case but wasn’t sure. An unexpected cost but I’m sure will be interesting none the less! |
