Kidney Stone
Hello all,
I’m looking for some advice. Yesterday I endured the worst pain. A trip to the hospital shows I have a 6mm Kidney stone at the very bottom of my ureter just above my bladder. I was given 3 options (pain killers, therapy or surgery) the doc and I agreed painkillers was the best option as it is so near the bladder and once it drops into the bladder it’ll pass out fairly quickly. I was told that my Kidneys are in good health, nothing suspicious about my blood tests either and once the stone passes that’ll be the end of it. I let my class 1 lapse last year during PPL training so I am planning to renew it this year before enrolling on ATPL theory. Following this; https://www.caa.co.uk/WorkArea/Downl...?id=4294973863 Once the stone has passed what do I need to provide to my AME to show I am stone free and able to receive my Unrestricted Class1? Kind regards, |
Looking at the flow chart you posted, you apparently need a urological review, with imaging such as CT or ultrasound that shows you are stone free. Then you'll need repeat imaging at 2 and 7 years later.
If there are residual stones, it's a bigger hill to climb. Having had one myself, I expect we agree that it is not good for a PIC to have an episode of renal colic. (disclaimer: I am not an AME) |
