Class 1 for jobs in Asia, Middle East (currently flying in Eu)
Hi Everyone,
Just a quick question regarding moving from the EU to Asia/ME. I am wondering does every Airline/Authority do a "stand alone medical", as in they just assess you independently knowing you have a current EASA class 1? Do certain authorities need medical history as well? It wouldn't be an issue but it would certainly be a consideration before I applied for positions. I am not talking about the SOLI process either, I am talking about say China/UAE/USA, transferring my EASA ATPL effectively. Appreciate any input! RB |
Anybody...please!!!

They will assess you as having no medical , it will be a initial issue or renewal , just like your caa in the Europe |
The question about your medical history is irrelevant as every time you apply for a renewal you have to declare everything, plus you have to declare any new pathology when you become aware of it. So all authorities always need all your medical history. And as ersa says the other Authorities wont recognise your medical unless it is a piggyback so it will be an initial

Hi Oblivion,
3 countries in SE Asia I worked in (Myanmar,Cambodia and Thailand) gave me a validation of my ATPL (Myanmar,Cambodia used my EASA, Thailand my FAA) My Rating, Medical on said licenses used for validation had to be kept valid as well. Eg. no Cambodian SSCA separate C1 medical required. 2 other countries, 1 being Malaysia I had to get a DCAM ATPL which meant getting a DCAM class 1 medical. My EASA and FAA C1's were both also valid and It was not required by Malaysia or HK to get any of my Medical records etc. I just attended their Medical exams for initial issue. I still have both and if necessary I can renew the medicals if its necessary which is no different to my EASA reval etc. PM if you want, xcuse late replies, Cheers. |
