Initial applicant - medical class 1 - OML - loophole
Hi all, so Long story short in bullet points: -heart murmur when I was a kid -tried to forget being a pilot -mitral valve prolapse developed after 20 years -beginning of this year couldn’t hold it anymore, need to fly! -went to civil authority to enquiry about possibility of class1 medical certificate. -was recommended to be operated by the doctor on civil avition authority. -had open chest surgery 8 months ago, got biological valve implanted, recovery done successfully. -had all tests done as required by easa (ecg, eco doppler, holter and treadmill stress test) all good with doctors reports. -go to AME did all tests all ok, got refered to civil aviation authority due to special case. Informed OML to be issued on class med 1. -got denied due to not possible to get OML on initial. please help.. I know some of you have undergone the OML struggle.. thanks for your answers cheers comments |

I have pasted 2 links for you the first is a PDF memo by the Chief Medical Officer of the CAA regarding OML on initial class 1. The second is a link to the CAA regarding the OML on initial. Appointment scheduled for initial class med 1 at Aviation Medical Services in Horley on the 31st, will post results afterwards. |
