Flying while on blood thinning medication

Hi there,

was wondering if somebody, preferably an AME could give me an answer on the above stated question "flying while on blood thinning medication" - from the pilots perspective. I hold an EASA 1st class medical, but I have to take blood thinning drugs currently, or is this a disqualifying condition as long as I'm taking the pills (OAC = oral anticoagulation)?

There have been previous threads on this so please use your search button

You dont say what drugs you are on or why, but presumably you are on rivaroxabam or dabigatran which dont need monitoring and my understanding is that as long as the underlying disease isnt disqualifying you simply need a period of time to stabilise before being able to fly.
