Pterygium Surgery (with apologies to mods)

Firstly an apology to the moderators: I'm sorry if this is not an appropriate place to post (I am aware of a "health" thread), but I have been grounded medically and feel that this is the best place to attract the attention of people who might be able to help me. My main reason is that pterygiums are a common ailment among Australians, given our high exposure to UV radiation in our younger years.

Can anyone help with info/ own experiences of having pterygium surgery and returning to flying duties post op? I believe that within the gamut of ophthalmic procedures, this surgery is relatively simple - but all surgery involves risk, and I need the best man (or woman - sorry, didn't mean to be misogynistic) for the job. Presently booked in to see a professor in BNE who specialises in pterygium removal, but would be grateful for any advice/ input.

Please PM with any specific recommendations.

Thanks in advance,

GP.

I would look up an Australian eye doctor / surgeon called Petar Novakovic. He is also a pilot.

Loads on Goo gle. One of the forums even has a retired airline pilot talking about his operation. Sounds fine.
