Local CAA registered doctors

What's the deal with these doctors who are listed on the CAA web site? I would like to get a colour vision examination (class 1) without forking out the 400 or so pounds for the whole thing at Gatwick.

Cheers,
N.L.

p.s. I live in West Yorkshire.

If you just want to find out if your upto Class 1 eyesight before committing to the £400, then a visit to your local optician with a copy of the Class 1 requirements should do.

I visited 'Specsavers' and got the full test - colour, refraction, fields, accomodation, acuity etc. - for just £15 including the report.

Just send that off to the CAA and they should tell you if any problems are likely.

You'll still have to go through it all again though when you do the initial Class 1.

Thanks Mark 1. I'll get down there and see what the score is.

Fingers (and everything else) crossed.

Local opticians are able to pick up the phone and call the CAA Medical Board if they do not have the up-to-date requirements. They are given the time of day so you shouldn't have any wories getting that test done first.

Good luck with the result!
