Flying & Cockpit Noise

... I was wondering how much of your hearing you lose each year when flying. I know that several factors determine the speed of your hearing "imperfection" such as a/c type, hours/year, headsets and age.

Anybody out there with hearing deterioration? How much is acceptable?

Hello?

What? Eh? Havent noticed any marked loss of hearing myself, but I would suggest that lots of flying, especially in a single engined piston aircraft, will cause some form of hearing loss over time. As for what's acceptable, I couldn't possibly comment, best left for an audiologist or your aviation doctor.
