Heart

Hi,

I had my Class 1 medical the other day and passsed everything bar the ECG.

Although I feel I am fit and healthy, playing football regularly etc. I have been referred to a specialist for a further examination because the ECG has picked up an irregular heart beat.

The Doctor at the initial medical mention something about varience!?!

Could anyone shed any light as to what might be causing this and how bad it has to be before I am failed?

Thanks!

Get ready to open your wallet widely!!! They are about to make you get extra tests done which are v.expensive. Exercise ECG : £130 STG. Echo Cardiogram : £180.

Good luck with it. It's worth the money.... if you pass, of course!

Try not to worry about it, especially the cost of having tests, whatever they may be!

If the ECG turns out to find something slightly irregular that doesn't mean to say the end of a career or potential career. If anything it can be useful to maintain good health.

Advise about cost: Let the NHS pay for it! If you get the good cardiologist at Gatwick you can have the ECG arranged and done the same day!

Best of luck!
