multiple sclerosis
Aged 51, I have just voluntarily retired from professional flying (fixed-wing and helicopter)having been diagnosed with MS in 1997. With the blessing and support of the CAA I managed to fly with "as or with co-pilot restriction" for almost 2 years after diagnosis. Anyone out there in the same boat? JD

What is the Faa policy on people with ms

Kenneth
I was unable to find any specific protocol that the FAA follow on MS, but it is safe to say that it would be handled under the well understood special issuance provisions. Essentially they will evaluate everone individually on a case by case basis. If you can prove that you pose no safety risk then they usually will accomodate you. |
