Upcoming EASA NPA 2008/17-C medical requirements and migraine

Hi,

As you know, EASA are creating a new type pilot's licence, the LPL (Leisure Pilot's License). More information: Rulemaking | Notices of Proposed Amendment (NPAs)

As a migraine sufferer (mild), I am awaiting for the consultation phase to run its course, and for the new regulations to come into effect. The best estimate for this to happen is somewhere between summer 2010 and early 2012.

In the medical requirements of the LPL, there is not even a mention of migraine in the neurological section: http://www.easa.europa.eu/ws_prod/r/...202008-17c.pdf

Previously there has been discussion about the similar UK license, which this new system is closely related to. At least for the NPL there were no specific restrictions with regards to migraine. And I have understood from some other discussions that the new EASA LPL would have similar take on the malady.

Can anyone offer any pointers as to what to expect in this front? With a mild migraine, occurring 1-2times/year or less, would there finally be a way to get some sort of medical to be able to fly Solo on your plain vanilla Pipers and Cessnas ? :)

regards,
Tero
