EASA Medical Assessors

Hi!
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Looking for advise on the qualification requirements for the NAA’s medical assessors/licensing in EASA.

If the medical assessor in the NAA is a cardiologist and AME, are they in the role of AME qualified to asess, lets say hearing problems based solely on medical journals or are they required to consult an ear specialist before decisionmaking on medical?

Any regulation in the matter available?
Grateful for any help or experience in the matter!
Thanks!
