Meanwhile, the NT continues to offer light relief for political tragics.

Having caused disarray to the labor government in 2009, Alison Anderson has now woven her magic on the CLP government.

A forced move to the cross benches is now widely touted, as the CLP has lost patience with her posturing.

The score so far today is two senior minders sacked, with Anderson likely to follow this afternoon.

The two other bush members, who appear to regard personal advancement as a service to their electorates, will probably be given an opportunity to reconsider their positions.

There is still a possibility that the by-election in two weeks time will deliver a labor minority government, shored up by the three disaffected ex-CLP bush members and an independent from a conservative seat.

I think that's what the three are banking on; although I'm wondering whether either major party will really have a bar of them.

Sadly, when it comes to forming a government, moral values give way to "whatever it takes".

Gee, what could possibly go wrong with that? :uhoh::eek:

NT Politics, the same quagmire as everywhere else plus the black factor added in :O

I've just watched part of a program outlining what the QLD LNP are trying to do to public hospital doctors.....it reminded me of the Murray Darling management plan back in the howard gummint, when they wanted states to sign up to agreements that contained blank pages that were to be filled in AFTER the states had signed up!!:ugh:

Similarly, Campbell the Eel, and his 5 or so times failed Opp leader, now health minister Springborg., want Doctors to sign up to contracts that have a provision to alter KPI's at any time!! They're doctors, they're not stupid FFS!!!

(Don't start me on KPI's, so very QF Management, so very LNP ineptitude!! :ugh:.....'but...but, it said in my MBA course, we needed to implement KPI's' Sir?? .......:{)

So I guess we have mass resignations of hard working public health employees.......and the public system winds up with.....a couple thousand Jayant Patels.... Good outcome for those who will never need to utilise the public system, and from people who just yesterday received a 23% pay rise, whilst simultaneously opposing a $23 a week rise in the minimum wage.....

Funny watching Springborg claim the doctors have nothing to fear from him.....think a few public servants remember 'Can Do' saying the same thing....

Maybe he should be knighted.......the whole Knight & Dame thing has been wonderfully picked up by the compliant MSM to divert Attention away from howards old right hand man....no doubt Abbott & Co. will pay back in kind :ok:...the Murdochracy will be happy

Fliegs

That Doctor thing has got me stumped on why they are still pushing for it.

I have to agree with Fleigs _ the knights and dame thing was a cynical ploy to divert the public's attention away from Arfur.

SOPS 29th Mar 2014 07:59

Well done Tony and Team, 100 days with no boats. I think you are getting somewhere.:ok:n:D

500N 29th Mar 2014 08:21

C'mon, cyclone season helped ! :O

But the message certainly is getting through.

Some boats will try in the next 6 months.

SOPS 29th Mar 2014 09:49

I did not say it was over mate, I just said we are getting somewhere.:ok:

500N 29th Mar 2014 09:53

Yes, OK :ok:

I do think though people didn't believe them when they said they could stop the boats.

Notice how Two dads et al have gone very quiet.

I also notice that even anti Abbott media has tended to put in articles that stopping the boats has stopped the deaths / drownings.

At least they acknowledge that !

SOPS 29th Mar 2014 10:20

And I'm very sorry to hear the person is sick.....but it looks like they could be heading for a bye election in S.A. Giving how the other independent acted, I wonder how it will turn out?

500N 29th Mar 2014 10:25

Said to hear of his very serious illness but I think you might be right.

Wonder what that will do to the power sharing.

With you on that one Fliegs, the funding for the MPs MASSIVE pay increases has to come from somewhere I guess.

Fliegenmong 29th Mar 2014 10:41

I posted something on 'War in Oz'.....and MTOW & Takan agree with it somewhat.......who'd ever thought they'd see the day! Ha ha, Cheers Lads! :ok:

Fliegenmong 29th Mar 2014 10:43

Reckon 'Arfur' might be up for a knighthood MTOW! :}:bored:

If I wake up in the morning with a massive hangover, I'll be thinking "damn, I hope I didn't type anything silly on the JB forum last night". :} :ok:

I believe Tony Abbott would be on very safe ground if he awarded one of his new Damehoods(???) to outgoing NSW Governor Marie Bashir. The lady ticks just about every box - and in a favourable way - with just about everybody on both sides of politics.

Add to that her gender and her Lebanese ethnicity, all she'd need to do (joking, ok?) would be ditch her long term husband and declare herself one of the Sisterhood and even the craziest of the loony lesbian leftoids would fall in line with the other 99.99% of the population in welcoming her elevation to Tonytartlette.

It would not surprise me in the slightest if Tony Abbott does not do just this - and in the grubby world of politics, it would be among the better decisions he has made - and one that might (shock, horror) gain almost universal bipartisan support.

Takan, Worrals

I don't drink much so it's never alcohol but I know when I have typed something bad on PPRuNe, I try to go to the thread and a message comes up saying "you have been given time away from the discussion, you will be allowed back in 3 days" or "you have been banned from this thread indefinitely" :O

On "damn, I hope I didn't type anything silly on the XXX forum last night"

I remember one drunk individual who frequented a forum I was on, one night at O dark hundred - like 0300, all of a sudden these new threads appeared, A, B, C, D, all the way to Z. One letter in the title and one letter in the body :O

Anyway, I figured he was pissed and let him get on with it.

Next morning, he had deleted all of them and posted an apology to everyone. Other were asking "what did you do" as no one had seen them, but me.

I posted one comment, "oh, he was just having fun and let him get on with it as he wasn't hurting anyone". He was so embarrassed but it was all sweet but I think it taught him a lesson !

Labor tactics of the day (their behaviour on Parliamentover the last few days) would lead me to say they'd be highly critical of any decision Abbott made. Forget Marie Bashir. If he proposed Julia Gillard and Nicola Roxon to be Second and Third Dame, they'd find some reason to oppose it.
