Lots of great arguments here and compromises put forward. Sadly, Dre, you arenít offering any and you try and claim the moral high ground by suggesting concern for this is petty, given the other pressing issues the planet is facing. But itís exactly what Sam T describes and itís a certain moral decay and fracturing of the centre position that is the most dangerous. It affects our approach to everything; war, climate change, poverty etc This is not conspiracy whatsoever. The far ends of the political spectrum are fighting with each other and the vast majority are inheriting a wasteland of bad policy.
The trans movement has shown itself to be utterly incapable of any nuance or compromise. It is driving the reaction on the right and any attempts at a suitable middle ground are squashed. This is fertile ground for bad actors to come into the office landscape. We think Trump was badÖ..get out of your echo chamber and start seeing the other side. Violence against trans people is a major concern but violence against women is an order of magnitude greater and they are interconnected. There exists middle ground for these problems, digging in because youíre ideologue and not an honest broker will not find them.

Interesting take from Renee Richardís who was a trans trailblazer in the world of women tennis. Renee transitioned in the 1970s in her early 40s and played professional tennis against much young women in their 20s. Although having moderate success, and despite having the advantages of a genetically male physique, she acknowledged that, ď Having lived for the past 30 years, I know if I'd had surgery at the age of 22, and then at 24 went on the tour, no genetic woman in the world would have been able to come close to me.Ē

Clearly, her age disadvantaged her at the time and levelled the playing field, but Richards has since expressed ambivalence about her legacy, and has come to believe her past as a man provided her with advantages over her competitors.

Perhaps the answer to the question of who is male and who is female lies in the alphabet. XX and XY. Only Males have a Y. In the matter of definition, self-identification is irrelevant. The woman being strip searched has merely to ask that it be performed by a person who has two X chromosomes.

...it being assumed that the person being strip searched has two X chromosomes themselves.

Have you heard of Mr Dunning and Mr Kruger?
It appears that you don't know enough about the biology of sex and gender to know how much you don't know.

Maybe Dr Dreís point that the view of the 6 people that object is worthless because they wonít publish their names has something to it?

I am however quite surprised by his views, as he was the manager of Eminem, whose music can apparently be a little bit transphobic, and heís still good friends with him.

I love it that this board has a wide range of people, cultures, backgrounds.

Dr Dre, Iím a big fan of yours, I didnít realise you are connected to aviation.

Can’t help but think the trans community is hurting its overall goal of acceptance by pushing into sports with the argument of equality. Crusty old libertarian like myself has come to accept someone who wants to present as another sex, or no sex for that matter, live and let live. When and where the efforts to push acceptance negatively impacts others, you’ve begun to damage to the effort towards equality. My son is in the top 100 Collegiate wrestlers in the US in his weight class, thousands of hours on the mat and in the weight room has propelled him to where he is. He was recently forced to sit through a class on trans athletes. All attendees were given a speech on how to transition. This was not an elective class, mandatory instead. What surprised him was the minimal amount of work to transition and still wrestle. Work less, win more was the moral of the story.

So are we all agreed then: a separate category for trans athletes, and separate facilities for any woman with a penis?

Err.. isnít it a separate category for a Woman with a Womb?

I thought the point is that in the brave new world, a woman with a penis is just called ďa womanĒ, itís the weird ones with wombs that have had be categorised differently.

You think Iím joking? Google ďcisĒ
