Yes, you're correct. I thought he had when the waiter was unable to provide the meal he allegedly demanded.

This is the same Piers Morgan who was sacked as editor by the Daily Mirror for publishing hoax photographs of British soldiers committing atrocities in Iraq. I have despised him ever since.
It's the same Piers Morgan who admitted to knowing about phone hacking when he was a newspaper editor, yet somehow avoided being arrested for it.

All they say is that Piers Morgan spoke to or interviewed the people shown before it was known that they were criminals.
You can easily find similar pictures involving those people and other well known figures:

What about anyone who purchased a Gary Glitter record in the 70's? or people that bought a Stylophone as advertised by Rolf Harris?
Would you hold them in the same contempt that you now hold PM?
The expression on the face of the old cove with the moustache standing behind Savile says it all.

Would it not be the job description of a "journalist" to interview people whether they were good, bad or marginal and only having the knowledge that was available at the time? I am somewhat bored with the current belief that if you knew someone before they were outed as a villain you must be a villain too.

Back in a former life I met several celebrities who I liked in person at the time and was sad to learn later that they had less than stellar records.

Goes to the heart of the question, If music is good but the artist is later found to be bad, is the music still good?

The way he held the Government to account over the deaths due to Covid was refreshing, however it was him not letting them answer before going off at a tangent into areas the Minister was not responsible for was what annoyed me.

However if he became the Chairperson for the Post Covid Inquiry, THAT would be a good thing...

With regard to Meghan, yes he had his say on Monday but that should have been it after 30 minutes and back to other events. 3 hours of Harry and Meghan bashing was too much and not deserved... and on Tuesday Alex Beresford called him out before piers stormed out. Did not like it when he got a taste of his own medicine...

I don't particlurly like Mr Morgan at all - his "expose" of British Soldiers during/post Gulf War 2 was appalling, his history during the 'phone hacking scandal was despicable and I generally find him fairly unimpressive as an interviewer and personally his views on religion put him further down in my estimation - However - despite many things he SHOULD have been sacked for - being sacked for expressing his personal opinion is absolutely bang out of order. This sets an awful precident that "If we are not allowed to openly question anyone's story we should be sacked". To where does this lead? This is a further move towards the Cancel Culture and take over by woke 'snowflakes' who don't like an opinion so go to get that person removed rather than promoting open debate - very worrying times!

A rather ironic statement given that Morganís modus operandi on Tw1tter when called out for various things is to block people (and Iím not talking about abusive or even discourteous tweets)!

As Stephen Fry once put it:

Killing of Piers Morgan = Countryside.

Personally, couldn't agree more; the man is an arse of the highest order.
Good riddance.

He wasnít fired just for merely expressing an opinion. It was years of targeted attacks on Meghan leading to a point where he tried to downplay and deny her mental health issues and thoughts of self harm.

Whilst he has a right to an opinion and free speech (thatís why he wonít be arrested for his comments) the viewers of ITV also have a right to free speech too. If enough of them refuse to watch GMB then the producers have a problem. If the advertiser express their free opinion by withdrawing ad money from the show because people are boycotting it then they have a further problem. So the producers had to act, and they didnít fire him but offered him a chance to apologise for downplaying someone elseís mental health issues (try to downplay someoneís mental health issues in any workplace and youíll be in a word of trouble). He refused to do what his employer required and resigned.

No free speech or cancel culture issues here.

3 hours of Harry and Meghan bashing was too much
.... however there are those amongst us who found 2 hours of Harry and Meghan bashing the Royal Family and their interpretation of racist Britain too much as well ...

No, I wasn't aware until this thread. Why should I have known about it? For some reason, the local media didn't cover the story and I don't read everything posted on PPRuNe.

I didn't realise Morgan was sacked, I thought we just walked off the show on his own volation and then decided to leave the show for good. If that's "cancel culture" then I have a lot to learn.

Do you mean that even if I read every post on PPRuNe I might become misinformed?

Careful Hok. Your customary hot-headidness might lead you to serving some time in the PPRuNe cells. You won't like Wednesdays.

I apologise to everyone who might find me a little emotional at times and are offended by my behaviour. Losing a partner of 21 years and not being able to visit her grave since her passing does tend to get me a bit upset from time to time and feeling bad that all her inspirational work for lupus and cancer charities no longer happens. So I'm very sorry about that. I hope you have it in your heart, Krystal, to forgive me.
