Just done ours, what I cant get my head round is the Qualification bit
Yes I did O and A levels and Apprenticeship, but how that equated to NVQ's, Life Skill training etc..ye gods it was only 50 years ago, how can I remember.

I appreciate they have 'modern' terminology but once it realised the person of of age and retired what difference does it make??

I also wonder what use the employment questions are. Being asked about my last job, getting on for 20 years ago, and 30 years ago in the case of my wife, seems pointless, especially as both the companies we worked for, no longer exist!

Wouldn't it just be more easy and accurate to get the info from GCHQ ?

;-)

Me too. I was wondering if it was Sturgeon just being bloody awkward.

Done mine. Dead simple, took about 15 minutes. Was somewhat amused by the question asking me whether I was married to someone of the same sex or opposite sex, but fair enough I suppose. I resisted the temptation to put "Cornish" in the nationality section, but in fact like a lot of us "mongrel" would have been more accurate!

Yes, along with the question asking if I 'identified' with being the same sex that I was when I was born? I was therefore rather disappointed not to be asked if I 'identified' with being the same ethnicity that I was born with ;-)

Why, yes it is! I am a number after all...

Edit: clicked start census button and got a 403 "forbidden" error...

Edit 2: sheer volume of traffic? In, done, dusted...

.....

Yeh, the eduction thing. I was invited to comment, so I did. I didn't tell the story of being in love with the girl in front of me in our cycling proficiency test, and getting minus nine points, but I did mention leaving school with no qualifications and that the British ALTP was very formal and the hardest in the world. Come to think of it, they were the only exams I've ever taken after failing my 11 plus. I don't count the American ATP because it's too simple.

In geology, eduction is a process in which the Earth crust spreads sideways, exposing deep-seated rocks. It is prominent in middle layers of the Himalayas, where gravity pushes the mountains down.
Pretty hard stuff!

Tried to phone for a form to fill in; answerphone message claiming they were very busy and call back after 6 pm.
Tried to request one from the website; all I got was '403 forbidden'
They don't want you to use the paper form do they; they're trying to force you to fill it in online.

As my post above, I got "403 forbidden" yesterday, but an hour later everything worked fine - reckon it was just sheer volume of people opening their post and getting on with it....

When I phoned for a paper form yesterday the automated voice didn't recognise my reference number. Phoned again, same result. I then tried the website with success; it only asked for name, address and number of forms required, no mention of reference number.

SWMBO last "worked" about 40 years ago. Not clear about its relevance, unless it is about some deep finding about our "class".

And she gets a better pension from HMG than I do.

I received a paper format one with return paid envelope yesterday, with instructions on how to fill it in on-line using my reference number.
