French history teacher beheaded for showing Mohammed pictures

Mods - Please move if incorrectly sited. Couldn't find a relevant thread in first three search pages.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...ot-police.html

The Guardian is being a bit slow to feature this story, but ....no surprise.

History teacher from N Paris suburbs shows his class pictures of Mohammed to illustrate freedom of speech/thought. and some parents complain violently enough that the teacher registers complaint with police. He is later attacked and beheaded by an 18 year-old Chechen immigrant who is subsequently shot dead by police.

Not all of this info may be in the D Mail report as I have also included "facts" from Le Figaro report.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/20...r-paris-school - seems to be there, perhaps you didn't search effectively enough?

It's timed at 21.43 CET, four minutes after I posted. Perhaps you weren't diligent enough in establishing the facts.

And perhaps you're looking for offence when there's no need: the article is there, perhaps the Guardian took slightly longer than the Mail to publish (who famously publish then check) by a few minutes, so what? Surely the tragedy is enough on it's own?

Yes, I certainly do regard The Guardian as a BAME outlier and would never agree to contribute, although I am frequently requested to do so. I read it because they have a good number ( 20% ? ) of excellent articles when they can get off their N London colour-blind hobby-horse.

The reason I mentioned it here is because - had it been available - I would have given The Guardian link as it would not have been contentious, whereas the D Mail may have been.

I have no idea what a "BAME outlier" could mean, & no interest in clicking a Daily Mail link either, but thank you anyway. So, apart from repeating what is already in the news, what is it you are trying to convey?

What an horrible event, so abject and needless. On what planet some people seems to live.
this extremist “gangrene” seems to be set in France. Not sure what they will do to remove it...

You are clearly picking on the wrong party. It was Tartiflette Fan who sought to make the case for biased reporting, quite unnecessarily. And incorrectly as it turned out only four minutes later...

How desperately sad when people with differing views simply resort to attacking each other for daring to disagree with them.

A perfect demonstration of intolerance and small-mindedness.

Thread closed.

Feel free to start a thread on a horrendous crime and associated intolerance without the school kids tit-for-tat garbage.
