7500 - Amazon Prime

Just wondered if anyone else had watched this and thoughts? Looking for something mildly entertaining and distracting the other night and came across 7500. Didnít expect much but actually found it very, very good. Relative in the aviation business tells me the preflight checks, lingo and procedures are surprisingly accurate for a drama. The trailer makes it look a bit naff but the suspense and moral dilemma of the FO made it great viewing.

I seem to recall a conversation somewhere on PPRuNe about not discussing a certain secret squawk code! Looks like that cat is thoroughly out of the bag.

Security by obscurity has always worked - NOT.

Watched it last night. Found it hard to follow as half the dialogue was in Krautish and no subtitles.

Yeah I ended up having to have full subtitles displayed so could interpret!

Not a bad movie really considering itís completely shot within the flight deck. Not bad in terms of Airbus accuracy either

Yes, I watched it last week. It wasn't too bad, although I found myself telling the FO not to open the door. Just concentrate on the flying and get it on the ground. But I guess the film needed the drama!

I fast forwarded my way through it expecting the worst. They clearly had some sort of adviser on the job, but the consistency of accuracy was a bit odd. Like the SID flown and early handover to Bremen Rad was spot on for 25R out of SXF. Quite obscure info that was correct. On the other hand he pulled it out of a 400 knot >Mmo dive in normal law, or buttons didn't illuminate when pressed.

Just seen it, and found it rather good. 4 different languages are spoken in the movie, but with subtitles available that's hardly an issue.

Yes, not bad, in fact not bad at all.

However, the aircraft did seem to spend a lot of time flying itself.

Also, as said earlier, make sure the subtitles are on.

Agreed
It takes ~1h35m from Tegel to CDG, then ~0h55m to divert back to Hannover - The film is 1h26m long!!! Thats a lot of flying in circles!!! (Given that Luftwaffe Eurofighters engaged, he can't have reached the FIR boundary by ~1h05m!)
Tegel - Hannover is only 0h40m, so the Eurofighters engagement is therefore plausible, but still lots of circling!!!

Timeline aside, I found it thoroughly absorbing as a former ground-based Opsie, but can see it absolutely horrifying as a future holiday maker!!!!

Finally got round to watching and the turmoil for the FO when the girlfriend was in trouble....
However not expecting a answer but at what point would the Eurofighter be given the permission to fire?

Disappointed by this thread - when I saw the title, I thought Amazon Prime had been hijacked.
