From Carl Bernstein; really worth the read. What a Dear Leader.......

There are some things you can't take back. Affronts to honour that can't be undone.

Unfortunately for Americans, their highest office will forever be tarnished because of this ****wit.

I genuinely do feel sorry about it because for real Americans, it must really hurt.

This is a stupid ad hominem reply; did you actually read the linked article? This was researched over four months and had top ex-administration officials commenting. Not saying Bernstein is gospel, simply that you might read this and then comment in an intelligent way; are you not able to comment on the content instead of the author?. And the converse is, of course, 'If Carl says it, it must be false'. Some good thinking there for sure.

Could not help but notice this paragraph:

"He's given Russia a lifeline -- because there is no doubt that they're a declining power ... He's playing with something he doesn't understand and he's giving them power that they would use [aggressively].

Not not the politicians. You will have to look it up it's a department of making policy recommendations.

From the New York Times - https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/polit...bfV?li=BBnb7Kz
The new information emerged as the White House tried on Monday to play down the intelligence assessment that Russia sought to encourage and reward killings ó including reiterating a claim that Mr. Trump was never briefed about the matter and portraying the conclusion as disputed and dubious.

But that stance clashed with the disclosure by two officials that the intelligence was included months ago in Mr. Trumpís Presidentís Daily Brief document ó a compilation of the governmentís latest secrets and best insights about foreign policy and national security that is prepared for him to read. One of the officials said the item appeared in Mr. Trumpís brief in late February; the other cited Feb. 27, specifically.

Moreover, a description of the intelligence assessment that the Russian unit had carried out the bounties plot was also seen as serious and solid enough to disseminate more broadly across the intelligence community in a May 4 article in the C.I.A.ís World Intelligence Review, a classified compendium commonly referred to as The Wire, two officials said.

No itís not, itís a reflection of Bernsteinís bias against Trump. Heís not shy about it, that I give him credit for, he doesnít hide behind any journalistic pretense. Perhaps he trying to re-live his glory days of the 70s.

Somebody must be really worried about the other sides candidate, Iím still thinking a palace coup for Joe is in the cards.

At least it all beats watching reruns on tv. Not too long left until November.

I have been to the Villages several times over the years to visit a golfing friend that had moved there with his wife, subsequently developed cancer and passed on. Her neighbors provided much support for her after his passing. I thought it was very friendly when only 10,000 or 14,000 residents lived there, but now there are over 120,000 residents. The Villages was founded by a huge Republican supporter and donor and even today, more than twice as many Republicans live there than Democrats. 98% of the residents are white and not people of color. There are no schools except one only for children of employees of the Villages and large sub-contractor's children. The Villages have always been a favorite stop for Republicans running for office, Trump visited the Villages in October of last year and gave a speech to an invitation-only audience. Today if you are wearing a mask, you are a Democrat. if you arenít wearing a mask, you are a Republican.

So my take is that you maybe suffering from Proximity Blindness better described as not being able to see the forest for trees. It used to be most residents didnít talk about politics no matter their feelings but then The Villages got Trumped!

Speculative as hell to back up your opinion

We get invited to dinners with other families and with that comes the admonishment that no politics will be talked

crimey even the wife and I don't talk politics. What you see in the movie is an embarrassment to the great majority of the villagers, We don't even talk politics on the golf course, but leave it to our golf cats decked out in colors and bling to express ourselves

I guess we're just stuck with being mostly White, educated and diverse, so come on down

Good to see Goebbels Barbie on full defense in the WH briefing today. Coach scrotal sack has gone for the "classified leaks!" play today, which is quite interesting considering Goebbels Barbie is also making the case that the Russian bounty story is not true. So is it not true or is it classified? Tricky stuff indeed and reminds me of another famous quote:

ďIf you tell the truth, you don't have to remember anything.Ē

Interesting, what is the problem with discussing politics? Here in Vikingland we do it all the time and so far I've survived. Then again, we don't carry guns.

Been there, done that....
To the man who shouted and to the many veterans in The Villages, I wonder how you feel now that you know Trump was told in March that Russians were paying Islamic militants a bounty for every American soldier’s head?
Good question! Not to him, we know how he feels, but how do you feel about Trump with this new knowledge? I know how I feel about Trump and it has never changed in 40+ years. He never disappoints with how I feel with his actions or non-actions and his self-serving agenda, he has no moral compass or compass at all, never has...

answer to your question about discussing politics ... no problem at all, except you may turn a friend into a combatant with a long memory.

Best to try it in a pub where you have enough friends on your side to discourage punches thrown after nasty words are exchanged. Even a better idea to discuss on a board where the rules prohibit punches thrown

Not preaching here, I don't have the facts

Our leadership has the right to remain silent when it comes to what level of knowledge we have about people who wish us harm. Only when a counter action is taken is it necessary to expand on the reasons, without revealing the source to the extent that if exposes information that could backfire against us..

This is even more sensitive where there is a possibility that the information may be planted to confuse us into an unwise action.

Ok some have to be in the know, but who do you trust. Clearly in this case I don't trust the leaker since it's not obvious that the collected info is probable in its intent to cause us significant harm. Thus I don't believe it is a major escalation requiring us to get our knickers in a twist. In other word its all internal politics as usual designed to influence John Q public's vote. Else why go public with it?

Waiting for the cork popping to begin, hammock and beer ready.

All this intense hatred of one man youíve probably all never met canít be healthy for you, but it sure does beat watching reruns on tv for me.
Its all free too!
