Germany introduces a third sex

Intersex....... Strange choice of name, as everyone I know are probably inter sex.
i wonder if God will be amending the bible to be politically correct.
[27 amendment 1] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Plus an extra, the neither male nor female, but a floater so to speak, created he did

Well there are already four according to the bible - male and female, man and woman (so creating the difference between sex and gender) - so that would make five.

Genesis, Chapter 1 - the Creation, the fifth day (1:27) “So God created humankind in his image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them”.

Genesis, Chapter 2 - after the Creation (2:7) “Then the LORD formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into hi nostril the breath of life; and the man became a living thing”.......

(2:21 to 2:23 he creates woman - as separate to female, obviously.)

*Maybe he should have created a proof-reader first?

Ah yes, the bible. Always a good source for irrefutable, non-contradictory and non-contentious reference material when a couple of reasonable people want to settle a dispute...

"Politically Correct" - modern parlance for I have no empathy and neither should you.

Well I always backed my Trans patients when they applied to have their IDs changed.
Not difficult, we have some of the most liberal Laws in the world for that.

But a "non"-sex??

I'll have to think about that one.

You of course are welcome to ask politicians to settle it for you. I think they’re up to 13 differing genders currently. I’m sure you’re perfectly ok with that.

Just when I was almost, nearly, getting accustomed to the LGBTQRF..e.i.e.i......o.........thing.

Well, trust the Germans to get things organized. Wonder how high that was on their to-do priorities list?
I avoid people who desire to be known first and foremost for their sexual orientation and I shy away from use of labels where none are required.
I prefer to deal with individuals, unique individuals, people whose depths go beyond some limiting, summary classification.

Some years back I met a Russian who was undergoing a gender reassignment procedure...

Due to a shortage of funds it had to be done in stages...

Adwon Bolokov was the name.

Three sexes; that's nothing, in UK we already have 5!!

Male, Female, Essex, Sussex and Middlesex - the latter, of course being the equivalent of "Intersex"!!

I'll get my coat.

From the article:-

Intersex people are born with both male and female sex characteristics, which can appear at birth or later in life.
for which they will receive a doctor's certificate.

which is not the same as some snowflake choosing to identify as <insert choice of queer sexual orientation here>

I wouldn't have thought that this was in any way connected to political correctness. (OP) it's quite simply a physical condition that puts those affected by it in a very tricky position. To discriminate against them is no different from taking the piss out of sufferers of other conditions such as those caused as a result of oxygen starvation during birth. I wouldn't have thought most people would do that.

That's my understanding, too. My wife's a nurse and one of her friends (who's a midwife) mentioned some time ago that it was occasionally very hard, if not impossible, to determine gender at birth. In the past I believe this led to some "wrong" gender assignments at birth, even surgical correction, but now they do a blood test to check. Intersex as a condition isn't that rare, either, it seems. According to that article on the BBC news site it occurs in around 1.7% of births, around the same as the number of people born with red hair.
