He was one of the better MP's that one always felt was honest and trustworthy, he will be missed. RIP Paddy and Condolences to the family.

Hmmmm. Opposed the Lords but grabbed a Peerage in a flash. Cheated on his wife. He was a big, big fan of ...Paddy Ashdown. A class one windbag.

As you can probably tell I’m not his biggest fan.

Not one I personally miss, Charles Kennedy on the other hand was a huge blow and upsetting.

Paddy Ashdown on EU Referendum night -

“I will forgive no one who does not respect the sovereign voice of the British people once it has spoken, whether it is a majority of one per cent or 20 per cent. When the British people have spoken you do what they command. Either you believe in democracy or you don’t.”

Then when his side lost, he spent the next 2 years trying to overturn the result

RIP ‘Paddy’

He can't rest, he's dead. When you are dead that's it - dead. All that rubbish about floating in the clouds meeting people is so silly.

If he had only joined the right party when he entered politics he would probably have made a seriously senior cabinet position.

Joined the party who's politics he believed in, nothing wrong with that at all, not all politicians are out to make a quick buck (though all Tories do). As for his personal life, typical Bootneck, sh*g any thing that moves (and I have worked with a few in my time).

Anyway all that RIP stuff just means go away and don't be haunting me at night.
Nothing to do with respect to the dead.
