By George, I think you're starting to get it! Good luck to us, leaving a 450m people strong bully & thinking at the same time, we'll simply kick on.

The latest EU overfly/ownership rules are a classic example the Ryanair, for one, will find amusing. The Americans will probably just ban EU airlines from US airspace until the bully boy stands down. How anyone can advocate anything other than Brexit after watching the megalithic mob in Brussels in action over the last two years would surel be beyond even the predictive capabilities of Nostradamus.
Did any of that bizarre rant mean anything? - if so, how's about an English translation?

Well whatever anyone thinks of the European Commission-which is not the Eu. They are just the civil service of the Eu and are supervised by an elected body they are much cleverer at this than our utterly useless and treacherous government which has been both inept and disingenuous over the whole thin. Tory party first and f--k everyone else. otherwise why hasn't Liam Fox been sanction for plain straightforward lying to the country over his contention that a trade deal with the Eu will be the easiest negotiation in history whereas in fact it has become one of the hardest. Why hasn't Theresa may been removed from office on grounds of mental incapacity and she puts the government of the UK in the hands of half a dozen Ulster Unionist nutcases who shes has listen to more than the Governor of the BoE and all the country's leading business organisations

The German idea isn't a bad one at all in terms of common sense but while economists have limited common sense politicians have none seeing as no sane person could promise to lead us into a situation where we could suffered food and energy shortages, have military enforced curfews and god knows what else just because they are scared of Murdoch and the Daily Mail. And that fear is solely on a personal basis rather than on party lines, after all the Mail would support Hitler over Corbyn (oops it actually did support Hitler, I almost forgot that). As and for their outrage today about calling Gibraltar a colony -it is a colony just as Bermuda and the Cayman islands and BVI are colonies and of course all are tax havens on a monstrous scale, Gib doubling up the moral failing by being an offshore gambling centre as well. Of course we call these places dependent territories-which is another word, well two words for a colony.

Interesting re the Al Andalus Express ! It has been plying its trade around the Canaries here for a fair while. Why or how would it end up in the UK??

The curses of using an iPad are many.
The books refer to Tom Browns Schooldays and the Flashman series by Fraser that trace the subsequent history of bully boy East.
The aviation reference , surprising that, was to the problems that will face BA, Iberia, IAG, Delta and KLM in the event of a godd and proper Brexit. This all relates to the requirements of the EU in regard to ownership of overflying airlines.

It's sad when the best someone can add to such a vital matter affecting the future of a country is to keep repeating how much they hate that nasty EU.
One must assume that such a person has nothing to lose when the UK goes down the tubes.

And what would replace its regular service to Tenerife?

I remain puzzled as to whether you haven't read the books, or whether your entire post was an attempt at an ironic rewriting of history, or what.

And so it begins!

Nissan to announce cancellation of its investment in Sunderland to build the X-Trail SUV, instead it will build it in Japan and Barcelona.

So come on all you Brexiteers and Leavers, just WHERE is the bright sunlit uplands and land of milk and honey you promised us? WHERE is this "we can now trade with the whole world and be great again?" Eh? Where?

Since we're dwelling on appalling ignorance and we've heard that despite announcing to great fanfare two years ago that Nissan would be sticking around, come what may, this just in:

It's appalling how absolute 24 carat, copper bottomed, iron clad, knee jerk morons like this sodding wet plumb and of all things, of Polish descent are shaping the future of the nation, How can you do anything but despair?

It's gone a bit quiet on the 'more project fear', 'nothing to do with Brexit', and 'there's bound to be a little disruption' front.

In Sunderland they must now be dancing in the streets: "look, it's working already, we got what we voted for, and we haven't even left yet!".

In other news, May's competence in trying to bribe Labour MPs must be under some question, given her failure to bribe both the DUP and Nissan enough for them to actually stay bribed long enough to actually deliver.

It's also gone a little quiet on the "everybody on Jet Blast supports the Tory government" front.

(They'll all jump in in the next few seconds to say that they never did.)

The Nissan thing we'll see about in due course. Most car makers have been caught flat footed by the sudden decline in diesel sales & it's instructive that Japan - EU trade deal went live yesterday & this leaks a day later. On that, the tariff barriers don't evaporate, they're structured downwards between now & 2027 10% on Friday, 8.8% today, 0% in 2027. Nevertheless, Brexshambles will unquestioningly be a factor in this & it's terrible news for Sunderland.

I feel nothing but sympathy for them. Lied to by spivs & pantomime toffs & it will cost them their livelihoods. Sunlit uplands? Unlit Sunderland more like.

And... Fact check: Britain received about 2.5 times the amount of money Germany received from the Marshall plan. What a sad loser...
