No it's because you're stupid.

I often find myself wondering what happened to her formative years as a vicar's daughter. Her immigration policies show a complete abandonment of any so called Christian" qualities.
Talking of Christians, how does the devoutly Catholic Rees Mogg relate his financial business tucked away in Dublin to the teaching about rich men and the eye of a needle?

But in 2017 May was PM.

The Lord moves in mysterious ways........even more so when it comes to off shore accounts, but, presumably the Nanny is well looked after thus ensuring no delay when he arrives at a certain set of gates because he's led a blameless Christian life.......Boris,, however.......

Project fear Shock horror, Remain pumping out fake news
From Telegraph (which I can’t post in full nor post a link)
Facebook paid hundreds of thousands to host anti-Brexit 'fake news'

“Facebook has been accused of "pumping out fake news" after running political adverts claiming endangered animals were being threatened - by Brexit.

The social media giant has been paid hundreds of thousands of pounds by Britain’s two most prominent Remain campaign groups to stir up support for a second referendum.

Latest figures released by the Facebook show the two organisations - People’s Vote UK and Best for Britain - spent £373,587 on Facebook ads in the run up to the parliamentary vote on Theresa May’s defeated Brexit deal.

There seems to be an increasing number of calls to delay the date of Brexit for a multitude of reasons. The EU has apparently said it would only consider such a request to facilitate a general election or a second referendum. It would not entertain a delay just so the UK could procrastinate for longer before deciding (if it ever could) what to do.

The EU wants the UK to remain a member. Why on earth would they grant an extension to Article 50 which could potentially result in the UK deciding (or rather, confirming the previous decision) to leave?

Surely they would reject the request, leaving just the two options (given the timescales) of a no-deal Brexit or rescind Article 50, which the UK could legally do unilaterally. As there is an overwhelming majority in parliament (and the people) to avoid a no-deal Brexit the only possible outcome would be a vote to rescind Article 50, thus giving the EU what it wants.

Ideologically this might even be acceptable as the UK could then still have a general election or second referendum. I don’t know if there’s a limit on how many times a country can invoke Article 50.

It is possible that the only black woman is attacked more than others because she's black and/or because she's a woman.

It is possible that the only stupid person is attacked more than others because he or she is stupid.

In trying to guess which was the reason I would listen to the wording of the attack - an n-word would suggest racism, a c-word would suggest sexism, but words like "idiot" would suggest that it's stupidity being called out.

Now, it could be argued that to some extent (and we can argue about to what extent) people can't help being stupid, but it could also be argued that if they then voluntarily put themselves in a position where they're likely to be attacked for being stupid then they're asking for it.

But of course this comes down to what's socially acceptable from time to time. We no longer advise black people or gay people that if they suffer from racism or homophobia it's their own fault for voluntarily choosing to appear in public. Will some society at some time decide that stupidity is a "protected characteristic"?

(You did say "discuss".)

Surely any failure to organize elections would lead to the UK having no representation and be against our Human Rights (specifically Article 3 of the First Protocol) - I would suggest a fairly case would be brought before the ECJ.

As a lifelong Labour supporter I would say it's not Diane Abbott's womanness or blackness that is at issue. People hate Gina Miller but to call her stupid would be,..well stupid. In this case it's a matter of if the cap fits. In Diane's case the cap fits as well as Cinderella's slipper.

In spite of their official biographies, one that recently have shape shifted somewhat, I thought that Gina Miller started out as a sort of propaganda girl for BMW whereas Diane Abbott had started out as pretty much as a pin up for Jeremy Corbyn. Gina Miller might therefor be said to have got her leg up in life thanks to quality German engineering whereas Diane Abbott achieved hers thanks to British social mechanics.
On a more humane note, Gina Miller always strikes on as really a very clever and mentally agile woman whereas Diane Abbott so often appears bigoted, factually incoherent, patronising and utterly incapable of either rational thought or discussion.

Something we can agree on, doesn't happen all that often:

I wonder how her interview for admission to Newnham College Cambridge went?

Strangely perhaps, I also agree but it would be very hard for anyone of any discernment to do otherwise. But be of good cheer for I bring great news!

I had booked a few days' holiday in France (while it is still possible) and had all travel arrangements confirmed a couple of weeks ago. However, this morning the ferry company contacted me to tell me that the return trip as arranged no longer was possible since the government [sic] had commandeered the vessel. Could they offer me something else? Bummer - this is most inconvenient.

So what's the good news? It would appear, thanks to my sacrifice, that you will still be able to get your globe artichokes, pineapple chunks, French lamb and of course, Mars bars. I shall not be deprived of my Catena Alta Malbec. Win win. Hooray, Armageddon has been postponed.

Here is a possible answer to the above question;

White = Black-= Brown= Yellow = Male = Female = Transsexual= Gay = Lesbian= Transvestite = Stupid = Imbecile= Idiot= Christian= Muslim= Hindu= Buddhist= Shaman= Atheist= Agnostic= Murderer= Rapist= Pedophile.

To express it another way, ceteris paribus.

Could that be the company deciding that flogging the ferry lease to the government was a lot more profitable (likely a shortage of ferries driven the price hugely and this opportunity just became available) so they then decided to do this (and inconvenience the passengers) instead? Of course companies would never consider such a disgraceful action

It already is in the UK... "Lessons will be learned".....

Could just be that this is the new stock excuse for ferry companies.

Y'know, like when an airline screws up they tell the punters it was the fault of ATC.

Just wait until they discover that they've been sailing on the wrong kind of water.

Given the "failing Grayling" had awarded a contract to a shipping company with no ships, maybe said company had to resort to desperate measures to acquire one.
