And I hope I'm going to win the Euro Millions tonight... With one ticket I think I've got a better chance!

Doesn't this belong in the totally useless and boring thread?

I find it rather ironic that people who complain that the media keeps going on about the engagement keep going on about it here!

Has anyone else noticed the resemblance between MM and Pippa Middleton - or is it just my imagination?

You have an over active imagination that needs some cold water showering.

And there's nothing wrong with intimate UK/USA relations as Sir Winston C proved by becoming a dual national. It could have been even closer if Gloria Vanderbilt had had her wicked way; but that's another story and a source of a classic Churchill put-down.

Don’t forget Boris Johnson has dual nationality too. The only MP that could be PM in the UK or be eligible to be POTUS as a result of his birthplace of NY.

I think itís fair to say that both Princes have done rather well for themselves.

I shall make no comment about their Fathers selection.
Well I'll make one Bob. He has married someone who by all accounts is a very nice lady, with whom he is quite obviously in love. I'd call that doing very well for himself

No, he doesn't. He renounced his US citizenship when the IRS started to take an interest in his financial affairs. No POTUS for BoJo.

He could have married her in the first place if he hadn't dithered so much. But then we wouldn't have had William and Harry and their extremely capable and decorous inamoratae.

Roads not taken or roads taken and happy conclusions?

Wasnít W. Churchillís Ma an American gal ? His Father Randolph succumbed to, in those days, an incurable std .. past, heavily suppressed scandal is so much more .. well scandalous ! makes this lot look positively angelic . I also agree that MM does resemble P Middleton more than a little . Best wishes to them both anyway

Aside from one or two here, what a bunch of a-------s you are, young and old. So harsh, and hateful in the modern vogue. Cheap JB shots.

Wish them both well. They've done nothing to attract all of your vitreol. Sods.

Foreign, mixed race, media savvy and divorced. True love I'm sure... but ticks all the right boxes doesn't it? Welcome to the future. Who says the royals don't try to stay "current".... but hey thats "showbiz"!....

AIUI, their coming together was as a result of a blind date - which leaves room for suspicion.
If, as has been stated, they were unaware of each other's history, who decided that they should be 'forced' into this meeting?
I mean, if you bump into somebody at a party (as I did with the future Mrs G-CPTN) - we both arrived early for unconnected reasons so were left to talk to each other - there was no collusion by third parties - or if you meet by chance in a cafť - then it can be happenstance, but if you are negotiated into a blind date, then the organisers must bear some responsibility.

Keeping up a family tradition: Marrying an American divorcee.

The other one, his great great aunt, was a famously competent cocksmith who learned her skills when performing as an enthusiastic amateur in a Shanghai whorehouse.

We know that politically this one was more aligned with Clinton, so perhaps she's a talented player of the pink oboe too.

Which uniform do you think he'll wear at his stag do? Will it be a German one, in keeping with his mother's in-laws?

His grandfather, at least according to the official family tree schematic, spent his formative years within that milieu.

The female Germans on that side of his nominal family were also brought up in the milieu.

Will Major Hewitt be given a front row seat at the nuptials? Or is that still a bit of a touchy subject?

Some say its less HRH & more Harry H. I don't know or care. In some ways I do feel a bit sorry for the royals, who are basically frontmen/women for the "establishment". The lack of personal freedom must be suffocating. Having said that I don't really warm to any of them, theres nothing natural about royalty, an anachronistic left over from less enlightened times.
