Suitably dumbed-down English to be understood by all?

“We would like to take this opportunity to remind people that the deer in the are wild animals and their behaviour cannot be predicted. It is extremely dangerous to approach the animals at this very close distance as we cannot predict how they may react. They are very large and could inflict a lot of damage. The animal could also become injured." (sic)

There is only one way I would ever approach a Deer, rutting season or out.

And that is with nothing less than a .257 Ackley. (Roberts Improved)

Although with a Sambar I believe that some say that a 7mm Mauser is the absolute minimum.

Wokking hell ...
A self-professed 'magic man' has died after accidentally steaming himself to death in a wok while trying to 'cleanse body and soul'.

Lim Ba, also known as Black Dog, could be seen sitting in lotus position in a giant metal pan at a Chinese temple in Suala Sanglang, a small coastal village in northern Malaysia.

A lid was placed over the 68-year-old in preparation for the steaming and he clasped his hands in prayer before a fire was lit under the wok.

But after 30 minutes the performance went horribly wrong and devotees could hear Lim knocking frantically from inside.

Not only wild animals which are unpredictable. It’s amazing the number of people who die crossing a field with cows and their calves. Then there are the sheep.....

There was widespread condemnation of French hunters who recently shot an exhausted stag that had sought refuge in someone's garden.
It was killed in front of villagers who wanted it set free.

At the weekend, a stag attacked and killed a beater on hunt in the Oise when it charged out of bushes and impaled him with its antlers.

Maybe word gets around the deer community!

Please.
As we won the war, it is a .275 Rigby.

Karamojo Bell and I are forever grateful for your attention to this matter.

I think that the correct nomenclature is ".257 Roberts Ackley Improved"

The man was a genius and could figure out a way to get more powder into anything which had pretensions of containing any at all.

Whatever, 421dog. I am actually in the process of building one, based on an FN manufactured K98 Mauser.

From the article

As a result, a number of US states including California, Texas, Arizona and Ohio outlaw firing a gun into the air. In Minnesota, it is specifically forbidden in cemeteries.
Surely a cemetery is the best place to do it, it's best equipped to handle the consequences.

is it the gun that's a concern or the bullet?

Do we allow gun salutes in military cemeteries?

It's firing live rounds, rather than saluting blanks, that's the main risk.

I've seen firing like this at an Egyptian wedding years ago, and suggested to my other half that we'd be better to just watch from inside the hotel, looking out the window, as there was no telling where the rounds were going to land.
