The French Presidents Hair

The secret is out. The reason for President Hollandes suave and immaculately coiffured tonsure
is that his personal barber gets paid........wait for it..........€9895 a month!

It's enough to make the French taxpayers tear their own hair out!

I wonder if he gets an EU grant for it?

Oh well, as Robin Day would have said, he's a hair today, gone tomorrow politician.

Be fair. The salary included Valerie Trierweiler hairdo's as well. Informed sources here say it's all due to the soaring cost of black hair dye.
I'm still coming to terms with the fact that I'm part owner of his hair through the taxes I pay.

Wonder how that exorbitant amount was decided on.
Competitive bidding process, the hair guys price list or just the government's arbitrary number?
Elitist prats.

Anyone remember "Hairgate" when Bill Clinton had a $200 haircut in Air Force One sitting on the ground, engines idling, at LAX. Anyone know what it costs in fuel to idle a 747 for an hour?

Still, I supposed he could have spent the $200 in other ways, which would have got him an even worse press

I do. Wild Bill got a lot of flack for that one.

I read somewhere a few years ago that Air Force One costs upwards of $150K an hour, Tank. I wouldn't doubt it costs more now.

Its a good job he didn't have Monica Lewinsky onboard, though the engines would have been idling for a much shorter time.

I seem to remember that the bigger cost was that due to the security protocols around AF1 loads of flights couldn't take off or land, thus causing ATC mayhem etc etc….

As to Monsieur le President's coiffure, no doubt the person has to be a confidente of the president and security cleared and at his beck and call to travel both locally and internationally, therefore no life. Maybe the salary isn't so crazy. If it were just some bloke in a salon then it would be silly money, but i'm reliably informed that good/sought after hair stylists for the 'ladies that lunch' make much more than that per year darling
