Some time back, a thread was open discussing who we would have liked to have met in person. Alec named me as on of two or three. It touched me deeply.

Our last exchange doesn't seem so old. It's hard to believe that he is no longer there.

Don't mourn his Passing....celebrate his Life and his contributions to others!

I shall lift a fine Whisky with a Tip of My Hat towards the Sky and suggest I pray he has reached the highest Flight Level possible!

We may not have agreed on things political, but we shared an understanding of what it was to come up through the ranks on steam-gauged aircraft. I shall miss your disarming wit, your clear mind on philosophical issues, and your kind nature.

RIP Con-pilot, one of the greats here on PPRuNe. My next glass of whisky, I shall raise in your honor, my friend.

I defy anyone with a shred of humanity or empathy or spirit, capable of sometimes soaring, to read back through these posts again without feeling a lump in his/her throat.

To be fair he said the same to me but when he was working...........

He figured I would be travelling in back in chains accompanied by US Marshalls

And his story of hanging the Christmas lights.....a true classic! Just like Con-pilot himself.

Indeed; My favourite posts of his was his stories of hanging the Christmas lights.

And I think he would be rolling on the floor laughing if he could read the link supplied by Gordy.

We all miss you Con-pilot.

His passing was sort of an end of an era, I think. At least on PPRuNe.

It was, I miss the stories of flying for the justice dept in the 727. I kicked around the idea of writing a book about it, wish he had.
