Very saddened to hear this news. We seldom shared the same views, but his posts were always worth reading.

Shocked to read this, I loved reading his stories and always hoped that he would write a book.

God speed.

Oh my goodness, I am so sorry to hear about Con's passing. What a personable gentleman, with such an interesting flying history. I am thankful to have had the honor of meeting him (especially as a fellow Okie) and extend my sincere condolences to his family.

RIP ..........Nice guy and will be missed.
Pmed with him late last year when he said he had been unwell and he was more concerned with a young lady whom he met in a similar situation who was a young thing and getting married when she could.

I just asked him a question to ensure the Medical team were not er over exhuberent, his replay said it wall.

And they didn't denut you.
Yup, I checked, they are still there.

Not another one gone. That was my first reaction, I always enjoyed the inputs from him and Keef. Anything I say will only be inadequate, They will be missed.

I haven't been reading PPRuNe for a while or posting here, but did stop by just the other day and saw this horrible news. Con-Pilot's posts were always such a pleasure to read no matter if you agreed with his views or not. It was an honour to help him with travel to Ireland in 2013, a trip I know meant a lot to him, and so glad he made that trip while he still could.

A very sad loss and my condolences to his family and friends.

Oh dear, unlike many of you I met him and his lovely wife on a visit to Ireland. I tried to organise a flight over the Aran Islands for him but the atypical Irish weather and other issues spoiled the the plan. But we met up in the local hotel and had a nice chat and a couple of drinks. I brought my kids and his lovely wife made a fuss over them.

They still remember that day fondly. They remember he walked with a stick.

Sad to lose all those memories.

God speed my friend.

Back from a four day trip away when I've been offline so I have just heard the news. Very sorry to hear this, he was way too young to go. Unlike some who shared his views, he was always able to engage in polite discourse and never descended to ad hominem abuse. I trust that wherever he has gone it will be a sprout-free zone!

RIP con.

Friends, PPRuNers, Aviators
Lend me your ears,
I come to praise Alec.

We had an enjoyable private correspondence.
My last trip to the OKC area missed him (I was visiting my uncle and aunt) so we resolved to get together on my next trip to see my relatives.

Looks like I should have gone sooner.

Raise a glass, friends, to one of the good guys.

Never knew him but am amazed at the responses here. I am sure that if his family know of this thread which is so long they would be so happy

I found a link to the Buchanan Funeral Service and tried to sign the 'Guest Book' but for some reason it did not appear to go through.

Posted a card via snail mail then.

Another poster made the comment that he wished that Alec had written a book on his experiences.

Would have been a great read IMHO.
